Wherever born, free from poverty, always content, therefore without attachment to wealth, body, speech, and mind in accordance with the Dharma. Because nothing has essence, one realizes that actions are meaningless, severing the bonds of attachment. Knowing that everything passes away, there is no sting of conflict, and the mindstream is virtuous from within. Seeing that nothing needs to be done, the walls of conformity collapse, and the mountain of the eight worldly concerns crumbles. Having grasped the path to liberation, one practices the sacred Dharma properly and quickly attains Buddhahood. From the Great Vehicle's instruction manual, the Treasury of Wish-Fulfilling Jewels: Commentary on the Thirteenth Chapter, "Reflecting on the Difficulty of Obtaining Leisure and Opportunity." Thus, after teaching about the support of leisure and opportunity, encouraging Dharma practice by contemplating impermanence is as described. Thus, even if one obtains the leisure and opportunity that are difficult to find, it is momentary, impermanent, and of the nature of decay. The nature of the three realms of existence is illusory and deceives beings. This leisure and opportunity, obtained through the power of past virtuous conduct, is only obtained once in a hundred paths. Even if obtained, it is unreliable, so one cannot escape swift death. In the words on impermanence, it is said: "Thus, for all beings who are born, death always stands before them. I too cannot escape it, so today, accumulate Dharma diligently." Thus, wherever one is born in the three realms and six classes of beings, all are drowning in the river of birth and death, the waves of suffering are raging, and they are seized by the demon of impermanence. In the Extensive Play Sutra, it is said: "The three realms of existence are impermanent, like autumn clouds. Beings wander like the moon in water. The life of a person passes like water falling from a cliff. All conditioned phenomena are like watching a dance." Thus it is. Now, explaining the nature of impermanence in detail, what is the nature of impermanence that can be recognized? Thus, adorned with the wealth of the four continents, the outer world is an example of impermanence and decay. One should also understand the body to be like a bubble or a stone. The outer world, which appears to be stable for a while, is generally equal to the edge of space. Specifically, what appears in the world realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, adorned with the wealth of Mount Meru and the four continents, is also impermanent due to the subtle moment, and changes over time as it declines from the end of the kalpa.

Since even this visible image will eventually disappear and become one with the sky, why would I think that my fields, houses, lands, possessions, utensils, relatives, and even this body of flesh and blood, the result of karma, which is like a pile of bubbles, will not perish? I must think about this deeply from the bottom of my heart. As it says in the Sutra of the Lesser Nirvana: "Conditioned things are constantly changing; such a place cannot be found." And as it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "When this world system arises, and after arising, it decays and this world system ceases to exist. Just as it was before, so it will be again later; know all phenomena to be like this." In a precious palace adorned with the four continents, even if the sight of a beautiful country is well arranged, when it is destroyed into particles, it becomes a nature of nothingness; look at that. The body and enjoyments that are closely taken, and all the appearances of this life, all are impermanent, illusory in nature, and will deceive you. No matter what you think about, there is no essence; no matter what you think about, it will not help. Therefore, turn your mind away from samsara and cultivate renunciation, and from this very day, treasure the sacred Dharma! This is the concluding verse. Therefore, look at the objects that appear like this! All accumulations are impermanent and will be exhausted; all that appears high is impermanent and will fall low; all that prospers is impermanent and will decline; all that gathers is impermanent and will separate; all that is good is impermanent and will become bad; all that lives is impermanent and will die. Think about these things and apply the impermanence to your own body, possessions, and all appearances. As it says in the Vinaya Sutra: "The end of all accumulations is exhaustion; the end of all that is high is falling; the end of birth is death; the end of gathering is separation." And as it says in the Mahavaipulya Sutra: "All conditioned things are of the nature of destruction; like a summer bubble that bursts quickly, or like a sandpile on the shore, changing according to conditions, very fragile." Therefore, due to the mistaken notion of grasping illusion as truth, one should closely establish the awareness that whatever appears is impermanent and without essence. The advice to cultivate renunciation due to the impermanence of moving sentient beings: the present
