May the mental factors arising from it always become the cause for accomplishing all the meanings of those. May all those who speak ill of me, or who harm me in any other way, and likewise those who slander me, all have the fortune to attain enlightenment. Thus it is said. I take refuge in the source of happiness, who, even when harmed, remains connected to happiness. Thus it is said. In the Jewel Heap Sutra, it says: Even if some sentient beings, due to the obscurations of karma, do not have faith in the Tathagata, the roots of virtue that they see are meaningful until they are completely liberated from suffering. Therefore, in order for sentient beings to be liberated from samsara, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas perform limitless methods, and sentient beings also possess the Buddha-nature, so they gradually become liberated from suffering. This is clearly stated in all the sutras and tantras. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that those with wrong views cannot be completely liberated from suffering, as it refers to not being liberated for a long time. If that were the case, then samsara would have an end, because we promise that all sentient beings will gradually attain Buddhahood. But we do not promise that samsara has an end, because attaining Buddhahood is liberation from suffering, not the end of samsara. The end of samsara is samsara itself, just as the end of a field is the field itself. Because nothing is established in its own nature, liberation and beginninglessness are also not reasonable. In the Commentary on the Bodhicitta, it says: Any momentary consciousness, its basis is not permanent. If the mind is impermanent, then how does it contradict emptiness? From the very beginning, gradually, it is established that self-nature is always non-existent. An object established by its own nature cannot be said to be without self-nature. After saying that, the mind abandons the existence of self. Transcending its own self-nature, this is that the dharmas do not exist. Just as the sweetness of sugarcane and the heat of the nature of fire, similarly, the self-nature of all dharmas is said to be emptiness. Thus it is said. In general, refuting other's power: Because any phenomenon that appears as real does not have even a little bit of self-nature, there is no other's power, just like the moon in water. The moon in water and the moon in the sky are also the same, because they appear in the eye, arise from conditions, and are produced by the cause of habitual delusion, so there is no difference.

Here, the appearance of various external phenomena is not established as being from others, but is nominally said to be the flourishing of the habitual imprints of one's own mind, but it is not so in ultimate reality. If there is no other, then other-dependence is prevented, just as if there is no ghost, then the power of the ghost is prevented. The Samadhiraja Sutra says: "Just as the sky is clear and the moon rises, its reflection appears in the clear ocean, the moon in the water is empty and accumulates without essence, all dharmas should be known to be just like that." Therefore, other-dependence is not reasonable, because it is produced by the previous moment, and changes in the second moment, and is the dependent, the sign and the signified, and the opposite of other-dependence, and is the nature of dependent origination. The statement "the nature of other is existent" also refers only to the appearance of existence in name, but it does not exist in reality. As mentioned earlier: "If one analyzes well with wisdom, there is no distinction and no other, if one says that reality is also non-existent, how can one distinguish with wisdom?" The eight consciousnesses cannot be one or different, meaning that the eight consciousnesses cannot be the same entity, because in that case, the eyes can also hear sounds, and there will be the fault of being neither deaf nor blind. Setting the mind consciousness as having distinctions and the five sense consciousnesses as having no distinctions is also unreasonable, because in that case, just like the eyeball, there will be the fault of the eight consciousnesses existing in each position. Therefore, the eight consciousnesses cannot be one or different. There are also three refutations of the alaya consciousness: refuting permanence, refuting the object of focus, and refuting the seed. That is to say, for the alaya consciousness of habitual imprints, which is the root of samsara, because it itself is non-existent but appears to exist, it must be refuted; if one thinks that the ultimate alaya consciousness is real, in order to remove attachment, it must also be refuted. First, the permanence of the continuous entity of momentary connection is not reasonable, because there is no connection at the same time, because there is no need for connection, because there is no interruption; if it is not simultaneous, then it cannot be connected, because interruption and non-interruption are contradictory entities; and the failure to establish momentary encounter also prevents this. Therefore, the continuity of moments is also non-existent, and the past continuity has ceased, and the future continuity has not yet arisen. As the Two Truths says: "Why is the continuity of the aggregates like the light of a lamp?" And "What is called continuity and collection is like a rosary army.
