Ground. There is also no quickness, because it prevents going, and because it prevents moving. If it is permanent, it does not move; if it is impermanent, it stops when making a move. There are three refutations of place: center and edge, boundary, and refutation of the nature of place. The first is: If one examines particles, since the parts of the central particle and the edge particle are not established, the edge and center cannot exist; and since what is established as the center of one is measured as the edge of another, all determinations of edge and center are refuted, so it is not established. The second is: If there is a boundary between edge and center, is it touching or not touching? If it is touching, it cannot be a boundary because it has become one; if it is not touching, it cannot be a boundary, like things and non-things. It cannot be a boundary by dependence, because it is the center and direction of some, like the appearance of the boundary itself. The third is: If something like the vast one is a thing, then it is momentarily impermanent and has no particle parts, so it cannot be a place; for non-things, there is no place because there is no thing. There are three refutations of aggregates: touching and not touching, one and not one, and being the same as the general. The first is like crowds of people and forest aggregates. If they touch, the aggregate cannot exist, because the parts of each one disappear as an aggregate. If they do not touch, the aggregate will not be determined as one. If it is one, it contradicts otherness; if it is not one, it contradicts saying that the aggregate is one. It is also the same as the general, because an aggregate is only said to be a collection of many natures into one, so refuting the general refutes the aggregate. The "Entering the Middle Way" says: "Continuity and aggregates, like rosaries and armies, are false." So it is said. There are three refutations of the unconditioned: examining the basis, examining what is to be refuted, and refuting things. The first is: The assertion that this is unconditioned is not established, because it is merely an imputation on minds with and without concepts, confused and unconfused, and cannot appear to anyone, like refuting space. If so, are meaning-generals and water moons also the same because they have no things? They are not the same, because they are determined by the mind and depend on conditions. The Root Verses say: "Nirvana is unconditioned, things and non-things are conditioned." Like that. The second is: All refutations depend on what is to be refuted, so since the conditioned is false, the unconditioned is also false, so it is not established. That same text says: "Birth and dwelling and destruction

Ga pa etc. Because it is not established, conditioned phenomena do not exist. Because conditioned phenomena are completely not established, then how can unconditioned phenomena be established? Thus it is said. Thirdly, unconditioned phenomena cannot possibly be real, so it is not established, it is merely a fabrication. Refuting destruction as other things: If destruction is other things, then there will be things that do not perish. In that case, it should not be a conditioned phenomenon either. Moreover, even if there are no things, destruction will exist arbitrarily. If so, there will be death without birth, so destruction as other things is not established. Refuting the establishment of the three times as real: It is impossible for the function of a vase to draw water to be completed in an instant and then remain constant. The vase with the three times, because it will become something that can be used now. If the function of drawing water is completed in an instant, that is contradictory. If it is gradually completed, then contact is not established. If the vase does not stop, then it will become unreal. If the nature is constant, then the change of state is impossible. Therefore, even an instant cannot occur in the present place. Countless beginningless and endless moments of vases exist simultaneously, because all the space is occupied by vases, so other things have no space to exist. The past and future vases do not appear, and the vase that appears now cannot be a single entity. Therefore, the establishment of the three times as real is negated. Things that arise and cease in an instant . How can it be a single entity? If cessation and non-arising do not appear, then how can existence and appearance be one? Because appearance is contradictory, a single entity disappears. This is the meaning of the summary. The self that cannot be described by the four extremes also does not exist, because clinging to the aggregates and non-aggregates as real opposites, and clinging to permanence and impermanence as real opposites, have been negated by valid cognition. Moreover, if the previous author still exists later, then it will be like the author of the Samkhya school. It is also impossible for consciousness not to recognize itself and the object, if the object cannot be recognized by consciousness, then the senses are even more impossible to recognize, therefore all beings will become deaf and blind. Not recognizing oneself is like refuting the author before. It is also impossible for the name and the thing to be interpreted to be different, if the name of fire is different from warmth, then it will become cold. If this name cannot be found from warmth, then it should be sought from elsewhere.
