Those karmas are experienced by oneself alone. Thus it is said. Although that is so, that self is neither this aggregate itself, nor is it separate from the aggregates. It cannot be said to be permanent, nor can it be said to be impermanent. Consciousness does not cognize itself and its object, because the mind does not cognize itself. Because the knowable and the knower are non-dual. However, it is cognized by others. The mind does not cognize the object, because the mind is unobstructed, and if it cognizes even with an obstruction in between, it would be too much. However, it is cognized by the sense faculty itself. Moreover, not all sense faculties cognize, but cognize by relying on (རྟེན་དང་བཅས,梵文:adhāra-sahita,Roman: adhāra-sahita, meaning: with support). As the Abhidharmakośa says: 'The forms of the eye, etc., have support, the consciousness that relies on them is not, because there is a gap in between, the forms are not seen.' Thus it is said. The name and the signified are different, such as using white ash and cow dung to represent a cow, these three cannot become one entity. If cow dung and white ash are one, then the agent becomes one, and the cow and the agent also become one, therefore it cannot become the name and the signified. Just as the mill, flour, and the person grinding wheat cannot become one. However, just like three people, they are three different things. The substance that is not wasted is: the non-wasting thing created from the distinction of obtaining non-associated formations, like a loan note, which is a thing that does not state the basis and basis, and is different from the three of form, mind, and mental factors. Even if it ceases, it can produce results. Moreover, it relies on this life and exists separately. At the time of death, all good and non-good of the desire realm are gathered together. The non-wasting things of the desire realm, form realm, formless realm, and unpolluted, are mixed into one substance and abandon life. Although karma ripens, the non-wasting thing does not cease, but remains as it is, like an un-erased loan note of samsara. When does it cease? When the non-wasting things of the stream enterer, etc., cease when the once-returner is attained, therefore it ceases when the fruit is transferred. Transcending the realm also ceases, when the non-returner is reborn in the form realm and the formless realm, only the non-wasting thing of the desire realm ceases. When nirvana without remainder is attained, all attainments cease, because it is a follower who transcends all three realms. As the Root Wisdom says: Like the law of weighing, the non-wasting karma is also.

Like that, there are four. These are the four aspects of the realm. These are also of unspecified nature. Abandonment is not abandonment, but through cultivation, it is what is to be abandoned. The result of maturation is also what abides. Because the realms are the same, the parts are the same, and all the parts are not the same. At the time of joining the continuum, only one is born. Thus it is said. In short, it is asserted that all inexpressible sounds of different dharmas are pervaded by one substance. To refute this, there are seven as in the previous direction. Among the five objects of knowledge, the first refutation of form has nine aspects: characteristic, origin, sense power, object, indication, obstruction, non-different substance, ability to produce sound, and refutation of non-cognition. The first is that coarse material form is obstructed by contact, parts, and directional parts. In the case of wide and subtle things, if hardness and earth are one, then there are no different dust particles, and if they are different, there is no hardness. Wetting with water, burning with fire, and moving with wind are also obstructed by examining both. The five sense powers of the resultant form are also unreasonable because they obstruct smell and so on. If one sees without contact, it would be too extreme, and the eye would hear sound. If there is a sense power of the body that is different from the body, it would be unobstructed and visible, and because it follows the body and touch, the object would not be understood, and it would not be experienced together with feeling. If the sense power knows the object, it would be mind and mental events. There are three refutations of objects: the refutation of form, sound, and tangible objects. The first is that the shape of form is not established because it is merely labeled as an aggregation of color particles, but it has no parts. There is no small or large because it is relative, and it is not established by the knowledge of contact. There is also no color because the parts of color are not established by examining the fine particles. The second is that when a sound is heard from the west, is it heard from where the sound originates, like seeing a pot, or is it heard as the sound stream moves from east to west like an arrow being shot? The first is unreasonable because one hears after a while after beating a drum, so it would be a reversed hearing, and because consciousness is unobstructed, it would not be obstructed by the wind, and the sound would not be loud or soft depending on whether the valley is wide or narrow.
