That birth is the power of the birth of birth. Just as a pot does not perish, other perishing, together with the eight wheels, is pushed to the place of the past. As stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: Characteristics are birth, aging, dwelling, and impermanence. These births of birth, etc., are in accordance with those eight dharmas and one dharma. Thus it is. The three times are substantially established: Therefore, past objects, such as broken pots, etc., do not completely disappear, but are constantly present. Future objects, such as seven days, etc., have also always been present from the beginning, but in the past and future places, they cannot be seen by kalpas and cannot be enjoyed. If objects are always present, then how can the differences of the three times be distinguished? That which has already completed the act of producing its own fruit is the past. That which has not done the act is the future. That which is being done is the present. Then, if the later pot exists when it is clay, what is the difference from the Samkhyas? There is a difference, because in the present place, it does not remain for more than a moment, and in every moment, the causes and effects of clay, pots, and shards, etc., are different. Therefore, the pot itself exists in the future place until it is born, and once it is born, from that moment onwards, it is transferred to the past place. The inexpressible self: The self of the person who performs actions and enjoys the fruits must exist. Otherwise, if a person keeps the precepts and is born as a deva, then the body of the person who kept the precepts dies, and the good deeds done are wasted. And the body of the deva does not keep the precepts, but enjoys the fruits, and falls into the fault of encountering deeds that have not been done. Therefore, when passing from one life to another, although the body is abandoned, only this self can enjoy the fruits of the deeds previously done. The sutra says: When I was the son of a Brahmin at that time, I offered flowers to the Tathagata Jewel Peak, and therefore I obtained the body of a deva for five hundred lifetimes, and now when I become a Buddha, I am also adorned with marks. From this it is known that the virtuous deeds that I accumulated earlier, at that time, the accumulator will become the protector of the self who experiences in the future. The sutra also says: The self is one's own protector, who will be one's protector? What is done by oneself
