Om. From the Samadhiraja Sutra: Without object and without characteristics, without conceptualization and without elaboration, unborn is suchness. And from the Mother (Prajnaparamita Sutra): Subhuti, all dharmas are by nature profound and without elaboration. Believing in such scriptural authorities, wise ones who desire liberation should always practice. To introduce the enjoyment of such practice to a yogi as an ornament of the mind: Whatever conceptual thoughts of characteristics arise, dissolve in the state of reality like waves in water. Relax, cherish not losing the clarity of your natural state. When meditating in such a profound, peaceful, and non-elaborate state, like an ocean, if thoughts arise that scatter to external objects, do not grasp at the arising thoughts, do not follow them, and do not negate their essence. Relax into self-peace, and by not losing the clarity of the previous meditation, the wave-like conceptualizations will naturally subside in the state of luminosity. Because they arise from the nature of mind and dissolve within it, there is no difference. The great Brahmin sang the primordial Vajra song: As long as thoughts arise from the mind, that is the nature of the protector. Are water and waves different? And it says: Water and fire, rest in the sole self-illumination. I neither accept nor reject coming and going. And from the All-Creating King: The dharma-nature of non-meditation is enlightenment, non-distraction, and cutting off hope and doubt is meditation. And it says: In the unborn dharma-nature of enlightenment, whatever characteristics of mind and mental events arise, without aiming to place them in any particular way, if the base is placed in that way, there is no distraction. If a beginner is distracted, they should immediately rest in the state of previous awareness. The Ornament of the Sutras says: By focusing the mind on the object, do not let it wander. Having quickly realized the wandering, one should place it back on that again. How to meditate? Without dullness, without torpor, without excitement, without attachment, unmoving, separate from all activities, with the clarity of samadhi, the stream of wisdom uninterrupted, meditate on the co-emergent, self-arisen wisdom. This is the extremely profound heart essence instruction. Whether it is with the breath, elements, or awareness, whichever is comfortable, one can meditate in a self-abiding manner. At any time, awareness is without dullness, without torpor, thoughts are without excitement, and there is no attachment to meditative experiences.

Pa. Remaining unmoved in that state, not sensing the movement of breathing in and out, meditating in a clear and bright state without being defiled by conceptual thoughts. Furthermore, conceptual analysis, attachment to joy and pleasure, and the movement of breathing in and out are all flaws in meditation. Breathing is coarse, and it is the horse of conceptual thoughts, so it is considered a flaw." "Thus, when abiding in a state of clear depth, it is inseparable from the wisdom of self-arisen luminosity, so wisdom is continuous, and this meaning should be constantly practiced. When such practice is perfected, from this, the divine eye and clairvoyance will arise, day and night meditation will continue uninterrupted, retention will be like clouds, and wisdom will be like the sun, arising from within the heart. From the familiarity with this unerring samadhi, just as reflections appear in clear water, clairvoyance arises from the clear aspect of awareness, and even with mountains and houses obstructing, one can actually see other realms and so forth, obtaining the unobstructed miraculous eye, passing day and night in a single continuous samadhi, obtaining the retention that does not forget vast words and meanings, and the wisdom of shamatha and vipashyana arising from within the heart. By this method, because the channels and winds become workable, the accumulation of qualities increases, one can progress upwards through the levels, obtaining two types of accomplishment. Therefore, one should diligently practice these essential points. Because the channels and winds become workable, the body and mind obtain joy and pleasure, as well as many qualities such as samadhi and transformation, and also obtain immeasurable qualities of the grounds and paths, obtaining temporary accomplishments, the common eight siddhis, and the ultimate supreme accomplishment—the state of Buddhahood. The eight siddhis are: khechara (sky-faring), sword, rilbu (pills), swift feet, vase, subjugation of yakshas, elixir, and eye medicine. Among these, khechara means being able to abide in the sky without dying. The sword means being able to destroy the enemy's armies with it. Rilbu refers to certain medicines that, when practiced and held in the hand, make the body invisible. Swift feet refers to shoes that, when accomplished and worn, can circle the ocean in an instant. The vase refers to the vase in which inexhaustible food, wealth, clothing, and other necessities arise. Subjugation of yakshas means that the yakshas will act as servants, doing whatever is commanded, accomplishing in one day what millions of people would have to do. Elixir
