Because of old age or reckless behavior, and various actions arising from not calming the mind, whether listening to the Dharma or at other times, avoid the following: harboring hatred, finding fault, speculating with images, staring with wide eyes. Like owing a debt, staring with wide eyes, not knowing how to restrain oneself, looking at the Lama. Clapping hands or making cymbal sounds nearby. Showing the back, sitting sideways, sitting with limbs extended, lying down, slouching and sitting like a plow. Fighting each other, even just joking or playing, wrestling or leaning from above, or hitting with palms, etc. Not stopping laughter and making strange gestures. Decorating clothes, etc. Also, spitting and blocking shadows. When leaving, do not walk in front without permission, stepping on footprints. Using shoes, cushions, mounts, and possessions. Measuring the Lama with the body, touching clothes and seats. Disrespectful and ignorant mistakes should be avoided. The pure room where the Lama resides, and directly spitting, blowing the nose, vomiting, and defecating in front of him should be avoided. Like a toilet, do not use one place as the only place for behavior. Protect against blocking the Lama's shadow. When leaving, do not walk in front without permission, do not walk from the right side, do not walk stepping on footprints. The right side is the front of the line, so it is forbidden to walk from there. Walking from the front is the beginning, so it is forbidden. The back will become the fault of stepping on footprints, so it is forbidden, walking from the left is allowed. If allowed, there is no fault in walking from anywhere, so ask for permission when walking. The Lama's shoes, clothes, seat, other possessions, mounts, bedroom, tableware, napkins, scriptures, etc., should not be used without permission. Do not measure the Lama's body with long or short sticks, or measure with hands. Like a pillar, saying this is as tall as the Lama to measure. Do not compare and measure with your own arms. If the Lama is regarded as a Buddha, the crown of the Buddha's head is invisible, so measuring his size is a rare fault.

Just as it arises from the supreme accumulation. Disrespecting clothes and cushions, sitting casually or coquettishly beside them, sitting stiffly with arrogance, and not offering the essence when consuming food, etc., are you associating with various faults without recognizing them as faults? Even if you know, you act disrespectfully out of arrogance, which is a million times heavier than before, so it should be abandoned. That also requires examining before relying on a lama. From the moment you rely on them, even if they are bad, you should respect them as a holy lama. As it says in the Gongdü: "You should highly respect the lama, even if they are not a saint, you should serve them like a supreme saint. If you despise and belittle them, looking down, you will suffer in hell." It says. Also, think about the qualities and respect them, because doing so will bring immeasurable benefits in everything. Even if you rely on an ordinary person as a lama, you should respect them. For the holy ones, do not treat them like old friends, but always respect and serve them like new acquaintances. Here, too, you should understand from the scriptures that disrespectful behavior will become an obstacle. As it says in the Tantra of the Holy Yogini: "If you step on a headrest, etc., you will climb Mount Shalmali. If you measure the lama's body with height, that person will be pierced by three hundred short spears." It says. And in the Secret Tantra of the Dakini: "Do not come from behind the lama, do not step on their footprints, do not walk in front of the lama. If others look at you from behind with contempt, you will go on the path of slander and sin. Do not walk on the right side of the lama, liking to walk with ordinary people, walk on the left side of the direction the lama is pointing." It says. And in the Crown-Turning Wheel King Sutra: "For the lama who teaches the truth, stepping on the shadow of their head, etc., you will abandon the right path and fall into hell." It says. You should think about these things and be cautious like a new bride who has just arrived, abandon incorrect behavior, and act respectfully. Just as with the body, there are two things to be adopted and abandoned in speech. Among them, what should be practiced is to advise with respect and service. Speech should also praise and take refuge with a pleasant voice, using gentle and pleasant words, with honorifics and service, doing as you are told, and saying, "As you say, it is good." You should also tell others about the lama's qualities, using beautiful
