Like that. Also, in the Guhyasamaja it says: "Better than offering to the Buddhas of the ten directions and three times, offering to one pore of the guru's body hair is greater in merit." Also, in the Shri Originating Sutra it says: "If you please the virtuous friend, you will attain the Bodhi of the Buddha." Also, in the Great Array Sutra it says: "Horses and elephants, wealth and the like," "Kingship, sons and wives, etc.," "Gold, silver, copper, iron, precious jewels, food, feasts, and clothing," "Essence, medicine, grains, flowers, etc., Dharma and material possessions, all enjoyments," "Offer as gifts to please the guru, thereby all accomplishments, immediately and without obstruction will be achieved, if such is not achieved, a multitude of mind-born offerings, if offered equal to one's age, this merit is equal to the former." Like that. Also, in the Tantra of the Ocean of Wisdom it says: "Thus, the ultimate of accomplishing deeds, arises solely from relying on the guru, other accomplishments will not be liberated, therefore accomplishment is the root of all. If you please the guru with the fragrance of sandalwood or camphor," "In hundreds of thousands of kalpas," "It surpasses the merit of offering in hundreds of thousands of Buddha-fields. Better than offering to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas," "Countless thousands of kotis of body images, adorned with the five precious jewels," "Adorning one hair or pore of the guru with the five precious jewels," "This merit is limitless. Just as offering to sixty-two kotis of monks who uphold the precepts," "Seven times a feast," "Is not as good as the merit of offering seven grains of rice to the guru's mouth," "A hundred thousand kotis cannot compare." Like that. Therefore, thinking about the benefits of offering to the guru, offer and serve with body and all possessions! Towards the guru, offer a little wealth, do not boast of profit, do not count, and do not regret. Because this is the method for accomplishing great things in this life and the next, therefore offer with nine virtues, and always serve. In the world with gods, there is nothing more supreme than the guru, the place of virtue, and there is no greater kindness than the guru, therefore, offering a little mundane wealth to the guru, do not boast of profit, do not count, and do not be ungrateful, because the merit of the Dharma is immeasurable.

Therefore. Ordinary people are grateful to the lama in person, but secretly proclaim to others again and again that I have offered this, and at other times they regret offering it. Therefore, it is advised not to do so. The sutra says that if virtues are counted, they will be exhausted, and if regrets arise, they will also be exhausted." Furthermore, the holy lama eliminates the misfortunes of samsara and obtains the wealth of the Buddha. He teaches the supreme precious Dharma and does not appreciate the kindness of introducing the mind itself as the Buddha. It is not appropriate to appreciate the kindness of his সামান্য material possessions. In short, if you offer to increase your own virtues, the recipient will be very kind. If you do not insist on offering, what is there to be grateful for? Therefore, you should think of the kindness and strive to accomplish the happiness of this life and the next and to accumulate provisions for the path. You should worship the lama with all the best things you have and be diligent in serving him without being tired of it. As it is said in the Ornament of the Tree, "Son of the family, you should strive to serve the virtuous friend with gratitude. Why is that? Because all virtuous dharmas are in his hands." And as it is said in the Immaculate Wisdom, "In the direction of the lama who possesses the treasury, whoever makes offerings with reverence," should not be proclaimed or counted. If anyone does so, it will be fruitless and destroyed." After pleasing him with external objects, one should then please him with the supreme conduct of reverence of the three inner doors. Also, with the body, make prostrations, circumambulations, and offerings. Protect against obstacles, obey orders, and serve. Rise up, spread out cushions, and perform various kinds of reverence. In this way, serving and attending to the lama can be divided into three types: inferior offerings of material possessions, intermediate employment of body and speech, and superior pleasing with practice. Material possessions only accomplish worldly happiness and are easy to abandon. Therefore, body and speech are supreme. In this way, what is cherished in the world is said to be life, and it is extremely difficult to be able to give up body and life without hesitation. Therefore, it is supreme to make practice the essence. That is also the need for relying on the lama. That is also the deed of the former ones.
