The gods closed the gates of the city of Lta na Sdug (to be confirmed), even covering the gaps in the windows, and stayed for seven days. From the sky came the sound of the divine drums. "Gods, be victorious!" As soon as they heard the words, "Non-gods, be defeated!" the armies of the non-gods scattered and retreated. The gods walked in bliss, and when the non-gods were defeated, the armies of the gods chased them as if they were fleeing to the interior of Mount Sumeru to reach the golden ground. The non-gods closed the gates of the golden city (to be confirmed), blocked the windows, and stayed for seven days. Again, they heard the sound, "Non-gods, be victorious!" After hearing the sound, "Gods, be defeated!" the gods returned to their abodes, and the non-gods rejoiced. Thus, after the gods and non-gods fought. The cowardly ones, full of suffering, scattered and fled, fainting and giving rise to great sorrow. When a great battle was waged, a great sound resounded like the center of the sky splitting apart ༼༡༽. A rain of weapons fell. When a great storm of light and projectiles arose, some of the cowardly ones fainted and fell. Some felt as if their hearts were about to burst. Fear and great sorrow arose. In the Jataka tales, it says: The sound of drums resounded, and the surface of the sky was like a crack. And so on. At that time, many gods and non-gods fell and died with their heads and limbs severed. Some were discouraged and had no hope of survival. Such suffering and so on exists in the desire realm, so the suffering is especially great. In short, the gods cling to the joy and happiness of enjoyment as true, and are therefore distracted by it, exhausting their lives, devoid of the qualities of liberation, experiencing the suffering of falling, and the fault of sinking into the swamp of samsara. The non-gods cling to jealousy and strife as their own, and are therefore distracted by it, exhausting their lives, losing the path of liberation, experiencing the suffering of hell, and the fault of sinking into the swamp of samsara. People cling to the eight worldly dharmas as their own, and are therefore distracted by it. After exhausting their lives, they sink into the swamp of samsara. The suffering of hunger and thirst of the pretas.

The fault of being distracted by clinging to self-nature as an animal, passing away without any interest in the Dharma, suffering, and sinking into the swamp of samsara. The fault of animals clinging to stupidity, dumbness, and ignorance as their self-nature, passing away due to distraction, and sinking into the swamp of suffering in samsara. The fault of hell beings clinging to heat, cold, boiling, and burning as their self-nature, being distracted by that suffering, not becoming a support for the path of liberation, and sinking into the swamp of suffering in samsara. The six realms of beings cling to their own appearances, happiness, and suffering as self-nature, and therefore do not know the method of liberation. They do not even hear the sound. Even if they hear it, they do not practice it, and therefore they are forever sinking into the swamp of suffering, without any happiness at all. The Secret Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Tantra says: Those who cling to the illusory samsara, are separated from the meaning of true certainty, and constantly wander in samsara in the three times. The suffering of appearances torments like a wheel. So it says. The meaning of these is summarized as: Appearance. Such samsara is like a pit of fire, and the wise should strive to attain liberation. It is said that because there is no constant opportunity for happiness, it is advised that one must attain liberation from samsara, which is of the same nature as a pit of fire. The Vinaya Sutra says: There is no coolness in a pit of fire, and there is no happiness for those in samsara. Like this, there is nothing trustworthy in the place of samsara, although it appears to be happiness, it is actually the suffering of change. Constant samsara is like the turning of a water wheel, therefore one should strive to be liberated from it. Beings in the three realms are caused by karma, they are born from one place to another, and experience suffering, therefore it is called samsara. The place where it exists is: The truth of the origin of all kinds of causes, and its result, all kinds of happiness and suffering are disturbed by the truth of suffering. The illusion of the outer vessel and the inner essence, along with everything, there is no place in this (1) that makes one feel happy at all. Like this, the meditation of the gods, the peace of the formless realm, although it temporarily appears to be happiness, it is also exhausted by karma and transferred, entering other realms, therefore it is the suffering of change. The glory and happiness of the desire gods, and the things that appear to be happiness for humans, are also because they are encompassed by the suffering of conditioned phenomena with desire.
