Because of the greatest victory over the greatest, from the Non-Extensive to the Akanistha Heaven, there are five distinct types of pure and noble abodes. The combination of the first and fourth Dhyanas is small; the combination of the first and second Dhyanas, mixed with the fourth Dhyana, is medium. The combination of the first, second, and third Dhyanas with the fourth Dhyana is large. Each of the four Dhyanas, when mixed with the fourth Dhyana, is the most excellent. To meditate on these in transcendence is supremely excellent. Transcendence means abandoning a portion of the four Dhyanas, and from the bottom to the top, meditating on the fourth Dhyana. Progressing from bottom to top in order, or out of order, from one to three, and from top to bottom, meditating on the fourth Dhyana in the intervals of abandonment. By meditating in this way, one attains the Non-Extensive, the Non-Afflicted, the Splendid Manifestation, the Extremely Clear Seeing, and the Akanistha Heaven, etc. These seventeen, after transcending all, reveal the Great Akanistha, which is a type of abode. Above these is the abode of the Peak of Existence. The Akanistha Heaven is a beautiful abode that possesses the ten Bhumis, pure and bright, and is complete. In the Formless Realm, there is no abode of substantial appearance. Beyond the five Pure Abodes, there is the abode of the Great自在天. Those who have fully meditated on the ten Bhumis are born there. Who are they? Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas pass through the five Pure Abodes, while Bodhisattvas are distinguished by their abodes. In the four Formless Realms, there is no substantial form, so there is neither coarse nor subtle establishment in those abodes. The extent of the divine abodes of the Form Realm corresponds to the order of the four Dhyanas. The Four Continents, one thousand, two thousand, and three thousand are shown up to the Great Fruit. The five Pure Abodes are immeasurable. The extent of the first Dhyana heaven is equal to the measure of one world of the Four Continents. The three abodes of the second Dhyana are each equal to one thousand small chiliocosms. The third Dhyana is equal to two thousand intermediate chiliocosms. The other three abodes of the ordinary beings of the fourth Dhyana are each equal to three thousand great chiliocosms. The abodes of the five Pure Abodes are immeasurable, like stars scattered in the sky, residing like the appearance of a rainbow. The differences in height among these types of abodes.

From Jambudvipa itself, to the Four Great Kings and the Thirty-three, there are forty thousand yojanas and forty thousand yojanas. Below, from Jambudvipa to the summit of Mount Sumeru, the height of the sky where the fundamental palace of the Four Great Kings is located is forty thousand yojanas. From there to the place of the Thirty-three at the summit of Mount Sumeru is the same. Other abodes of earth-dependent gods, from there to Misery eighty thousand yojanas to Tushita, measuring a portion of one hundred and sixty thousand yojanas, in the sky where one proceeds from above to above, how much is there from Jambudvipa to that place? By calculating the distance above, one can know the difference up to Akanishta. From the Thirty-three to Antagonism-free there are eighty thousand yojanas, just as the distance from Jambudvipa to there is one hundred and sixty thousand yojanas, it is the same from Antagonism-free to Tushita. Those above also, from Jambudvipa to their respective bottoms, how much is there from the lower god realms to Jambudvipa, there is that much each, therefore it is very high up to Akanishta. The arrangement of those abodes that abide in that way, the way to gather them into the three thousand worlds is these: The four continents, Mount Sumeru, the six desire realms and the Brahma world together, are called the world of the four continents. The circumference is surrounded by the equal measure of the sun and moon's movement. The four continents, Mount Sumeru, the abodes of the six desire gods and the end of one together with the Brahma world, surrounded by a circumference of forty thousand yojanas high, decorated with the sun and moon, is called the world of the four continents. The world of the four continents, that empty end and the Thirty-three, surrounded by iron mountains with the same height difference, is called the general thousandfold world. That is because a thousand abodes of the four continents and Mount Sumeru and so on abide, therefore it is said that way. That, counting from one to two, placing the thousand in the middle world, that is the thousand middle world, the same as Paranirmitavasavartin, surrounded by iron mountains from all places. There, there are a million Mount Sumerus and suns and moons and so on. The middle world, that thousand thousand is the great thousandfold world, Brahma etc.
