Mount Sumeru dwells in the center, surrounded by seven golden mountains in a square formation. The inner mountain, Holder of the Yoke-wood, has a straight peak like the yoke-wood of a chariot. From there, successively outwards: Holder of the Plow-shaft, has a straight peak like a plow-shaft. Possessor of Sandalwood, has a forest of sandalwood on its peak. Beautiful to Behold, has a beautiful peak. Horse-Ear, has something like a rock horse's ear severed to the side on top. Able to Subdue, has a peak that bends slightly inwards. Holder of the Circumference, is so-called because it encircles the edge of all of them like the circumference of a wheel. All the mountains are also lower, with the outer ones being half the height of the inner ones. The first golden mountain is forty thousand yojanas high, the second is twenty thousand yojanas high, the third is ten thousand yojanas high, the fourth is five thousand yojanas high, the fifth is two thousand five hundred yojanas high, the sixth is one thousand five hundred yojanas high, and the seventh is six hundred twenty-five yojanas high. Their widths are each equal to the height they rise above the water. Outside of all of them, the surrounding mountain is made of iron, said to reach half the height of the Holder of the Circumference mountain. The circumference of the outer iron mountain is made of iron, reaching half the height of the Holder of the Circumference, thus rising three hundred thirteen and a half above the water, and its width is the same. Now, the oceans are to be shown. The distinctions of the oceans among them are also that the oceans are filled because rain falls like the axle of a chariot, filling the spaces between all the mountains and continents. The reason is that a stream of rain like the axle of a chariot falls from the sky above all the mountains and continents, thus also filling the Playful Oceans, and also pervading the surface of the great earth with water, thus becoming one ocean. The inner Playful Oceans are filled with water possessing eight qualities, their widths equal to each of the seven mountains, and also three times the amount of water in all of them. The seven Playful Oceans are filled with water possessing eight qualities, as stated in the Vinaya Sutra: Cool, sweet, light, soft, clear, without impurities, beneficial to the stomach when drunk, and also not harmful to the throat, these are considered the eight qualities of water. Thus it is. The ocean from the Holder of the Circumference to the outer surrounding mountain is saltwater. Why are they called Playful Oceans?

That, the eight great nagas abide in the kalpa, and are places of play and amusement, hence they are called so. The eight nagas are: Joyful, Near Joyful, Horse Base, Letting Go, Possessing Light, Upholding the Country, Great Black, and Ela Leaf. They also, when the non-gods and gods wage war, are the allies of Indra's army, born from the four kinds of birth. The measurements of those seas are: the inner sea, Mount Sumeru and the Yoke-Holder Mountain's (1) thangka width is eighty thousand yojanas. The extent of the east-west direction is three times that of each of the four directions. The inner circumference of that Playful Sea is three hundred and twenty thousand around the face of Mount Sumeru, and nine hundred and sixty thousand yojanas around the face of the Yoke-Holder Mountain. The second sea outside the Yoke-Holder Mountain has a width of forty thousand yojanas, which is equal to the height of that mountain. The remaining mountains are also like that, the height of the inner mountain is equal to its outer sea. The width outside the Plow-Shaft Holder is two (2) ten thousand, the outside of the Sandalwood Forest is ten thousand, the outside of Good to See is five thousand, the outside of Horse Ear is two thousand five hundred, and the last sea outside the Holder of All is one thousand five hundred, its width is like that, and its length is three times its length. The initial width is equal to the width of one side of Mount Sumeru, and the remaining six mountains are considered to be equal to the height of the six mountains. From the Circumference Holder to the surrounding salty sea, the width of the outer sea is three hundred thousand twenty-two thousand yojanas. From the Circumference Holder to the Great Circumference Holder, the width of the sea is three hundred and twenty-two thousand yojanas. Then, the land of the continents is as high as the water. The reason is that on the great sea, the depth (3) of the four sides of Mount Sumeru, the great sea looks inward and the wind continents that look outward stand up in a similar shape, and from those waters, those with stickiness are gathered, inserted downwards, and stand upwards as high as the water, slightly higher than the water. The time is as previously shown, at the time of the final separation and collection of the elements. It is also inhabited by the four great continents and sub-continents born from its own 8things (1). In this
