Due to delusion, practicing the ten virtues, it appears to attain the heavens, and practicing the ten non-virtues, it appears to be born in the lower realms. Therefore, until one is enlightened, one must rely on good and evil. Because one does not know or realize the self, one must accept or reject happiness and suffering like in a dream. As it was said before: Like enjoying pride in a dream, actions and so on produce good, and one enjoys the fruits of non-virtue. Just as upon waking up, one knows that the actions in a dream are illusory and meaningless, once one realizes the self, both good and evil are the cause of samsara, and liberation comes from doing nothing. As it says in that very text: Whoever sees and beholds the golden-colored, powerful creator, has transcended sin and merit, and attains supreme peace. And in the Secret Words of the Leaf Garland it says: He dwells alone in the subtle places of birth, He has truly accumulated these vast things, He is the supreme lord, god, and praiseworthy one, Holding onto that self, one will go to utter peace. So it is. Nowadays, those practitioners who are famous for the excellence of their meditation and adorned with merit hold this view: Although beings appear in this way, appearing in various forms, the stream of consciousness is one, because all who see each other are one in that and that's mind. There is nothing in nature, so one does nothing on the path, because doing is samsara. These conditioned ten virtues and so on are the delusions of unenlightened beings, creating good and bad cycles of existence, like in a dream. The yogi, like one who has awakened, is liberated by doing nothing in the uninterrupted emptiness through the guru's instructions. Now that one is a Buddha, there is no arising or abandoning. Even if one abandons the illusory body, mind and emptiness are inseparable, so consciousness dissolves into the sky and abides in the clear light of the Dharmakaya. One also practices this in one's heart and teaches it to others, so the assembly of disciples increases like stars, because the secret master has practiced the profound instructions in his heart and propagated them. Alas, nowadays the teachings, like the sun, have set on the western mountain peak, the rays of sutras and tantras

Appearances, too, are rarer than some wise and accomplished ones. Those who rely on scriptures are also led astray by misleading companions. Sentient beings with eyes have also become foolish, and the activities of spirits are times of joy. Look at how non-Dharmic things flourish. This is called the concluding verse. Therefore, although I pervade everything, I wander in samsara because I have not realized it. Now that I know, I should meditate on the meaning of doing nothing, which is the profound vow made by the secret one. There are three refutations to this: there is no proof, there is harm, and one cannot be liberated by knowledge. The first point is: if "I" is established merely because there is pleasure and pain, then there is no pervasiveness. If the qualities of "I," namely pleasure and pain, are taken as a sign, then the premise is not established, because "I" is not established, so the qualities of "I" are not established. Saying that it exists everywhere because it is permanent is also not pervasive, although it is true that it does not exist permanently, the premise is not established because the basis of "I" is not established. There are three harms: the meaning is unreasonable, the example is not established, and there is no habituation. The first point also includes: being compatible with appearances, not being able to have form, not being able to be a limb, not being able to be the basis of arising and ceasing, not being able to be stained by faults and virtues, not being able to be separate from thought and speech, and falling into the fault of inaction, etc., seven points. The first point is: it would fall into the fault of multiple "I"s, because it appears as multiple knowables that can appear. The second point is: that "I" should not have form, if it is only these containers and contents, then "I" is meaningless. If it is something else, then it should not be the essence of the containers and contents, and it would also fall into the fault of being actually visible. If it pervades but is not visible, then the containers and contents should also not be visible, if it is visible, then it is the same in essence as the visible object. If someone says that it is the same as determining appearances as illusion, then that is because appearances themselves have no parts, and the dharma of appearances itself is considered illusion, but it does not consider the pervasive illusion to be different, so it is not the same. Therefore, having form or not having form, being visible or not being visible, existing like a ghost is unreasonable. Even by analyzing atoms, etc., it is non-existent. The third point is: the shapes of squares, etc., are determined only by the shape of the edges, and there is no difference in the center of triangles and squares, etc., and the edges are also
