If something like summer exists as an entity, then mountains, etc., themselves should not be summer, because it is not known that seeing a mountain is seeing summer. Similarly, if all appearances are measured by it, then summer, etc., will not be established. Therefore, the so-called summer, etc., its general nature is merely a mental construct and will not be established. Not existing in common appearance is like when it is daytime in this continent, it becomes night elsewhere, and morning, etc., are also the same, which is only non-existent in things. There are three types of refutation of differences: refutation of simultaneity, refutation of equality of time, and refutation of length of time. The first is: a vase and a woolen cloth cannot be simultaneous, because there is no vase or woolen cloth different from that appearance, and the appearance has no parts, so it cannot be simultaneous. The second is: a vase and a woolen cloth cannot be equal in time, because the equality of the vase depends on the woolen cloth, and the equality of the woolen cloth depends on the vase, so they depend on each other, and eventually it becomes self-dependence, so nothing is established because time itself does not exist. If the equality of each appearance in things is examined, it is also refuted because it is neither itself nor other. As stated in the Root Wisdom Treatise: "If something is established by dependence, then it also depends on itself, if the dependent thing is established, then what depends on what to be established?" The third is: one year cannot be longer than one day, because if there is no creator one day, there will be no year established by it, and a year is also a series of days, and a day is only a moment, so a year cannot be long. A moment also has no parts, so it will not be created, because what has no parts cannot meet, so the continuum will not be established, and without connection, length will not be established. From a moment to years, months, kalpas, etc., clinging to length is itself ignorance. Refutation of constant time: Just as a mountain disappears from a certain time of the mountain, the appearing things are the same as this, so there is no constant time, and without things there is no time, because impermanence is the opposite. As stated in the sutras: "The past time is also empty by the past time." etc. There are three types of refutation of constant direction: essence, difference, and refutation of permanence. There are three aspects to essence: dependence, substance, and non-existence in common appearance, first is the refutation of dependence.

This Saha world is the east of the Sukhavati world, and when placed in the west of the Abhirati world, if it is only the east, then the Abhirati world also becomes the east. Therefore, these ten directions do not exist in the fabrication of deluded minds. As the Root Wisdom says: "If things are established by dependence, how can they depend if they are not established? If it is said that they are established and depend, then they should not depend." Like that. Not established as substance means that the Saha world itself is not absolutely established in the east and so on, so it is excluded. Not existing in common appearance means that for the people of Jambudvipa, it appears as the east, for the place where the sound is unpleasant, it appears as the west, for those who go upwards, it appears as downwards, for those who stand upright, it appears as upwards, and for monkeys, it appears as sideways. There are three refutations of distinctions: the ten directions, the four corners, and the good and bad directions are not established. First, the east of the ten directions is unique, so when it is universal, the east should not be unique, because mountains, stones, trees, and other numerous things exist without distinction, and the east itself will change from other places to the west, so there is no reason to be set as unique. The four corners are not established means that, for example, the northeast, are the east and north connected or not connected? If they are connected, then there is no meaning of corner, so the corner is not established. If they are not connected, then is there a gap between the corner and the east and north corners? If there is no gap, then it becomes one. The good and bad directions are not established means that when the east is a bad direction, it is unreasonable for the west not to have a bad direction, because the entire Saha world is the west of the Abhirati world and the east of the Sukhavati world. Relying on one's own position, for example, the east of that position is bad, this is also not established, because in terms of the theory of dust particles and time, both oneself and the east are not established. In addition, is the bad direction bad for all people, or bad for someone? If it is the former, because it is the east of the Sukhavati world, it is good, so it will also become good here. If it is the latter, then even after many years, bad situations will not occur. If you understand it this way, there is no bad direction, because you know it has no basis. As the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra says: "The realm of the east, the realm of the east is empty." and so on. The permanent direction is not established means that when things are destroyed or change position, their east and so on also seem to change from the previous one.
