As it is. The pervasiveness of the principal is not established by mere pleasure, pain, and ignorance, and the aspect of the object of pleasure and pain of the principal's image is not established either. Secondly, it is not pervaded by becoming one merely by following nature and ability, because the principal and the self are also the same as knowable objects, and foxes and lions are also the same as living beings. These cannot be said to be one in the principal, because it is obvious. Establishing existence by production is a contradictory reason, because existence ceases in the second moment, so it cannot be produced. Thirdly, merely establishing another object does not establish the self, just as establishing cloth from a pot. If it is established by something other than aggregation, then it is contradictory, because merely aggregation does not establish the meaning of permanence. There are six kinds of harm: the various principals ༼༡༽, and the existence of the result in the cause, and the self enjoying the object, and the concealment of pleasure and pain, and the concealment of mind, and the refutation of the destruction of the eon. The first has three: effort is meaningless, the three cannot become one, and confusion and non-confusion are unreasonable. First, the cause of eating food, etc., and the practice of the path become meaningless, because hunger, etc., and the suffering of samsara are permanent. Just as becoming a dust particle is suppressed by the coarse, if it is said that coarse pleasure suppresses suffering, then there is no fault, then that suffering becomes not suffering, because it is not experienced. Those subtle and coarse are also not one, because the dharma is contradictory. In the Pramāṇavārttika it says: "If suffering is there, why does it not harm great joy?" Abandoning the coarse and becoming subtle, those subtle and coarse are impermanent. Because it has the power to suppress, if it is not experience, what is not the nature of experience? How is that feeling?" Like this. Secondly, the three minds of pleasure, pain, and neutrality cannot be gathered into one, because the mind ༼༡༽ and feeling are contradictory in dharma. Thirdly, if these knowable objects appear as various, but the nature of the principal is only one, then is the mind that appears as one as many confused or not confused? If it is not confused, then the many truly become true

Because it is the object of apprehension that appears as many and is not mistaken. If admitted, then one thing will be lost. If confused, then its object is unreal, and because it is merely unreal, it should not be a single thing at all. Some in their own school think that this appearance of multiplicity, although appearing as many, is true in the mind, just as saying it is of one taste, is itself refuted." "The refutation of the existence of the effect in the cause is twofold: the meaning is unreasonable, and the analogy is not established. The first has seven parts: it should be visible, it should not become different due to conditions, it should be contradictory and coincident, it should be the function of the effect, it should be the effect of the same number as the cause, it should be that everything is the thing of everything, and the examination of clear and unclear is the same. The first is that it should be visible because there are sesame seeds in sesame. If you say it is not pervasive because it is not clear, then it should not be the same as the visibility of the present and the future, because the two existing in clear and unclear are contradictory. Among the eight reasons for being unclear, it should not be far or near, because the cause and the place are the same. It should not be the decay of the senses, obscuration, or suppression, because the cause is seen." "It should not be unintentional, because it trusts in the existence or non-existence of the effect. It should not be subtle, because it is coarser than the cause. It should not be mixed, because a small container cannot hold a large one, and mixing only a part cannot obscure the others. Therefore, is it obscured by merely not seeing it? If it is obscured, then because the gods and hells are obscured, the heretics will be established. If it is not obscured, then the effect in the cause of the Samkhya school is not obscured. In terms of objects, there are two types: those that can appear and those that cannot. Those that can appear are obscured because they are not observed, and those that cannot are not obscured, so there are no two faults. Among them, those obscured by the three: object, time, and appearance, are those that cannot appear, such as the unpleasant sound of a vase, clouds with various components, and flesh-eaters." "Those not obscured by these three are those that can appear, such as the sun and moon. Therefore, if vases and so on exist, they must appear, while hells and so on are obscured by object or manner, so they are not the same, although not observing is the same, but just as sandalwood is obscured here, but not in Malaya. It should become different without conditions, that is, clay.
