Also, practicing the biography of the glorious Guru, Thinking about the qualities of body, speech, and mind, I will also learn from his footsteps from now on, For the purpose of attaining the state of holiness, Be diligent in the ways of hearing, thinking, and meditating. Thus, through various methods, The benefits of relying on the Guru are limitless, Understand the right path, distinguish what to take and abandon. Complete the accumulations, purify the obscurations, pacify the obstacles, And after attaining the state of holiness, Quickly go to the city of liberation. That is, those who are full of afflictions and have bad minds, Do not seek the interests of this life, do not like politics, Narrow in hearing and thinking, ignorant of the objects of knowledge, Lacking faith and diligence, staying away from virtuous deeds, The three doors are untamed, with arrogance and pretense, Scolding others, without pure perception and respect, Craving for food, drink, wealth, and wrong teachings, The vows and commitments are defiled, and the mind is rough, Those who associate with them lead to afflictions and wrong paths, Non-virtue increases and virtue decreases, These are the characteristics of evil friends and their companions. The faults of associating with them are immeasurable, The mind is bad and pure perception is weak, Partial and arrogant, holding one's own side as superior, Praising oneself and criticizing others, abandoning the true Dharma, Slandering the Great Vehicle's virtuous friends, Craving for wealth and material possessions, shooting arrows of attachment and hatred.
