It is equal to the duration of twenty intermediate eons. After that, it starts to form again. Even this world of perfect appearance has times when it is unstable and destroyed. Abandon the nature of attachment to existence, and strive to attain the peace and liberation of enlightenment. From the Great Vehicle's instruction manual, the Treatise "Wish-Fulfilling Treasure," the chapter on explaining the eon of destruction and emptiness is the sixth. "Thus, from the manifestation of the nature of the vessel and its contents, the phenomena of alternating happiness and suffering are experienced individually by the six realms according to their karma. With virtue, all the happiness of the happy realms, and with non-virtue, all the suffering of the lower realms. The experience of alternating mixtures of happiness and suffering is manifested by the power of various aspects of karma. Thus, even in the meditative formless realms, there is the peace and tranquility of meditation generated by virtue, and although there is the existence of long life abiding for eons, it is impermanent because it is contaminated samsara. By the power of non-virtue, when those beings pass away, they are filled with the suffering of fearing their future state. Even in the desire realm, there are various kinds of happiness and suffering. In the realms of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals, the suffering generated by their respective non-virtue includes heat, cold, hunger, thirst, killing, cutting, beating, and fighting, which are unbearable and experienced for a long time. The fruits of happiness generated by their respective past virtue include the attainment of food and a little happiness for hungry ghosts, and some slight suffering in between the changes of day and night. The pacification of suffering by the miraculous light emitted by the Victorious Ones and their sons is the result of happiness. The alternating appearances are transformed by karma. For humans, there are also places to live, enjoyments, retinues, fame, wealth, longevity, freedom from illness, and so on. Various aspects of the appearance of the rain of happiness, and also suffering such as birth, old age, sickness, and death, separation from loved ones, encountering enemies and unpleasantness, the suffering of declining wealth and being afflicted by poverty, unpleasant heat, cold, hunger, thirst, and so on, are all accompanied by various kinds of unbearable things. All of these are transformed from one's own deluded appearances by karma. For the Asuras, too, there is a natural envy of the glory of the gods, which leads to fighting and displeasure, mutual harm, insubordination, and harshness, gardens adorned with garlands of flowers, food of nectar, and buildings.

Riding and so on." "Enjoying happiness for a long time is never enough." "Even in the six desire realms, including transformation by others, although the wealth of the gods of happiness is pleasing, one must abandon it as if waking from a dream and leave, possessing immeasurable suffering of death, transference, and falling. Especially for the gods dwelling on the summit of Mount Meru, the wealth and happiness generated by virtue are extremely abundant, with towns and gardens, stone slabs, great trees, and the consorts of Indra, a thousand brave sons, filled with goddesses adorned with flowers on their heads, and excellent horses possessing the power of clouds." "The extremely stable elephant, the earth-protecting beautiful maiden, with thirty-three heads above, enjoy festivals of joy day and night without ceasing. Suffering is also death, transference, falling, and fighting and warring with the Asuras. The cause is threefold: Jambudvipa (the Southern Continent), karma, and arising from the sight of trees and maidens." "Also. The white factions and the black ones, the Nagas and the gods of the sky fight, contending and dividing with power and claws. The eight supreme Nagas of the white faction and the Nagas of the black faction wage war, with the gods of the sky supporting their armies. Rahu becomes agitated and is defeated in the dispute. At that time, the supreme gods of the Four Great Kings descend. From the white lotus seat, the moving lotus scatters the conflict. After being defeated, the weaver moves the excellent patterns, and when Mount Meru shakes, Indra and his attendants, becoming fierce, destroy gardens and wear armor extensively, the extremely stable vehicle and the army of gods, meet at the water's edge of Mount Meru to welcome them." "Warring, they throw Mount Meru and seize the sun and moon. The gods rise upwards, not standing straight, increasing sevenfold. This is caused by the power of pure white merit. The Asura army conquers and reaches the summit of Mount Meru, and the gods cut off the city gates for seven days. The Asuras are defeated, and the city on the golden ground remains with its gates cut off for seven days. Thus, from the fighting between gods and Asuras, those with much suffering, the cowards, scatter, and fainting and great sorrow arise. Such samsara is like a pit of fire, and the wise should strive for liberation. In the realm of samsara, there is nothing to trust, and even what appears to be happiness is the suffering of change. Constant samsara is like a revolving water bucket." "Therefore, liberation from that
