The nature of appearance is the arising as the self-radiance of awareness. The definition is seeing without obstruction in the realm. There are two types of classification: fourfold and threefold. The fourfold classification includes: the appearance of attachment to the six realms, various sufferings and pleasures; the appearance of cause and effect minds, various philosophical tenets; the appearance of the meaning of realized ones, the arising of ornaments; and the appearance of Kuntuzangpo, the spontaneously accomplished ground appearance. The threefold classification includes: the impure and deluded appearance, the respective appearances of the six realms; the appearance of the pure world, the self-appearance of earth and water; and the appearance of true wisdom, the spontaneously accomplished ground appearance. An example is like the sun and a butter lamp abiding in their own radiance. As stated in the Explanatory Tantra: The nature and definition of appearance, and the respective examples of the classifications, have been explained. First, the classification has two types: extensive and concise. The extensive one has four aspects: the six appearances of attachment to the six realms, the ten appearances of cause and effect minds, the one appearance of the meaning of realized ones, and the non-dual Kuntuzangpo appearance. The concise one is summarized into three appearances: the impure and deluded appearance, the pure world appearance, and the appearance of true wisdom. First, what needs to be extensively explained are the six appearances of attachment to the six realms. In the unobstructed mandala of knowable objects, for this very object of appearance, hell appears as hot and cold, pretas appear as three, outer, inner, and common appearances appear as three. The outer appearance of food is pus and blood, clothes appear as thorns, etc. The common appearance is that food is protected by protectors. The inner appearance is that eating without protection is poisonous. These are the three appearances of pretas. Animals appear as two, those dwelling in the north appear as darkness, those scattered everywhere appear as upside down, and food and drink appear directly without obstruction. Humans appear as they are now, countries, places, houses, etc. Asuras appear as weapons, gods appear as precious nectar, and mental appearances are the habitual tendencies of attachment. The ten appearances of cause and effect minds, the appearance of eternalists is also, nothing other than the eternal cave appears. The appearance of nihilists is also, there is this life but no future life, this appearance is suddenly produced, and when destroyed, it dissolves into the five elements, nothing else appears in the appearance of non-existence. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas see yak tail whisks and parasols, and lumps without parts, grasping and grasper, dharmas always appear, self-born ones are of one common emptiness, aggregates and elements are empty of self, Sutra.

The ultimate truth is emptiness, the conventional appears as mere illusion. Both inner and outer Mantras, are in accordance with the ultimate Sutras, the conventional appearances are seen differently. Kriya sees the three families as lord and subjects, Upa sees gods and master-servant, Yoga sees siblings and friends, Maha sees self and deity appearance, Anu sees sphere and wisdom. All do not abandon cause and effect, not truly existent but appear to the mind. Cause and effect are the appearance of the mind, the powerful is the appearance of meaning, Dzogchen is the appearance of realization, all are seen as the essence of Dharmakaya. The appearance of Samantabhadra, is the same as the above, a non-dual appearance. The way the initial ground appearance abides, is the condensed appearance, three kinds. The impure deluded appearance is the six realms. The pure is the ten Bhumi Bodhisattvas. The true wisdom ground appearance is the same as above. The difference of appearances is the explanation of expansion and contraction. The nature of appearance is shown, shown within the differences. Here, a brief mention is not enough. The nature of true certainty, is the nature of reality with radiance. The definition of appearances is, unobstructed object appearance is named appearance. The example is shown within the differences. Here, the example of certainty is shown, like rays appearing from the sun, like light appearing from a candle. Whatever appears abides in its own radiance. That is great wisdom, wisdom's own radiance appears transparently. Wisdom abides in its own radiance. The example of pure nature of reality is shown, like appearances in a mirror and so on. Thus it is. Secondly, in the cavity, there are four: essence, definition, difference, and example. From that very text: The essence and definition of cavity, are explained by examples of similar differences. Precious cavity and light cavity, habitual cavity are shown as three. First, showing the characteristic is: In the Dharmakaya, transparent and unchanging, unobstructed, all-illuminating wisdom body. One side symbolizes like a Maṇḍala, in detail like the ground appearance shown above. That precious cavity is the Dharmakaya. The middle characteristic shown is: Unobstructed wisdom light body, possessing the thirty-two marks, the five great aggregate mandalas, clear, radiant, beautiful, and glorious, unobstructed wisdom light cavity. The final characteristic
