From the letter of Po: The book is written with precious materials. The size of the book is four fingers wide. Wrapped with various silks. Thus it is said. It is established in the three places of body, speech, and mind, Transforming into the three doors of body, speech, and mind, Placed under the left armpit of a man, And on the right side of a woman. It should be carried constantly. In itself it says: Therefore, this thing, When walking, sleeping, and sitting, When standing, eating, and walking, When prostrating and circumambulating, When rising and hand-dancing, When running and bathing, put it down temporarily. Likewise, speaking and reciting mantras, Thinking and acting in various ways, Whatever actions are done by the three doors of body, speech, and mind, Should not be separated from this. Thus it is said. And it is crucial not to be separated from warmth. Fifth, how to recite: Among the eight occasions, First, when the sun and moon are eclipsed by Rahu, Set up inner and outer offerings, Visualize oneself as Vairocana Buddha parents, blue in color, sitting in vajra posture, Holding with the fingertips the supreme mudra of enlightenment, Visualize a white four-petaled lotus on the tongue, marked with the syllable ཨཱོཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨཱོཾ, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om), Recite during the swallowing time, With six or nine times of pure and clear voice, May one's own voice pervade all worlds, And may the light liberate all sentient beings from samsara. Whether day or night, when eclipsed by Rahu, For the animal species, give a feast that matches their food, For the equal part, do life release, When bound, one should practice the meaning of dharmata, In itself it says: When the sun and moon are eclipsed by Rahu, Recite this six or nine times, Reciting well with the lotus tongue, That is equal to the emanation body. At this time, life release should be forbidden, For the animal species, give a feast, Practice the meaning of dharmata, It is the time to recite. Life release is the time of equality, The time of animal binding, Practice is done at the time of binding. Whoever does so, Will also obtain the qualities of the emanation body. Thus it is said. Second, when an earthquake occurs, Visualize oneself as Akshobhya Buddha parents, white, holding a vajra with the demon-subduing mudra, On the ཛགས་, visualize a three-pronged vajra, marked with the syllable ཧཱུཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum), Recite six or seven times.

Thinking that all harm and hurt are pacified and liberated by one's own sound and light, this should be done during wandering times. For yogis who possess vows, it should be done when the assembly years are equal. That is, male and female yogis hold an assembly for one year, thus completing the assembly years. In times of turmoil, a feast should be held for the people; in times of suffering, they should also be invited from their respective places. As it says therein: If an earthquake occurs, recite this (mantra) six or seven times, or five or three times, with the vajra tongue. The assembly is the number of years of the yogi, and should be given abundantly at this time. Yogis with excellent vows should hold this kind of assembly feast. Recitation occurs during wandering times, the assembly should be held during equal times, and the feast likewise during times of turmoil. Yogis, in times of suffering, should be summoned from their respective places. Thus, according to the difference in occurrence, the yogi will surely enter the path of liberation, and their destiny will be exactly the same as those who hold the vajra. So it is said. Third, when the appearance of light occurs, visualize oneself as Ratnasambhava, father and mother, yellow, holding a jewel with the mudra of supreme generosity, and visualize a conch on the tongue. Recite five, three, or one time, thinking that one's own sound and light pervade all of space, thereby accomplishing all wishes and attaining liberation. This should be done during equal times. During wandering times, meditate on wind, and during turmoil, hold an assembly and feast for nine or eleven yoginis. As previously stated: When the appearance of light occurs, recite five, three, or one time with the conch tongue. Yoginis with vows, for nine or eleven or less, should hold a feast of coarse food. Recitation is during equal times, wind is during wandering times, and the feast is during turmoil. Yogis who act in this way are also the same as emanations. So it is said. Fourth, when sound occurs, visualize oneself as Amitabha, father and mother, red, holding an eight-petaled lotus above equanimity, and visualize a lotus on the tongue. During wandering times, recite five, six, or seven times, so that all of samsara and nirvana are gathered under the control of awareness.
