Non-existent. Second, the instructions for attaining Buddhahood in the intermediate state (bardo) are again fourfold: In the bardo of the naturally abiding state, like cutting the knot of knowables with wisdom, like a bird entering its nest; in the bardo of the moment of death, like illuminating the unclear with clarity, like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror; in the bardo of reality, like trusting in self-appearance, like a child entering its mother's lap; in the bardo of existence, like continuing the remainder of karma, like a fox entering a broken irrigation ditch. The first is that from birth until the moment of death, one severs the embellishments of words through hearing, severs the embellishments of both words and meaning through thinking, and through meditation, one brings the meaning onto oneself and does not err from the essence. The second is to clarify the instructions at the time of death; if one is clear oneself, that is sufficient. If not, then a lama or a virtuous friend, one who does not waver in their vows, should condense the essential points of the bardo instructions and explain them in an easy-to-understand way. That is, as earth dissolves into earth, the four skins fall to the ground; as water dissolves into water, water flows from the three places of the mouth, nose, and eyes and then dries up; as fire dissolves into fire, heat gathers from the extremities, and the radiance of the cheekbones fades; as wind dissolves into wind, the outward breath becomes coarse and accumulates, so the outward breath ceases; as wind dissolves into consciousness, the inner blood and essence gather in the heart, so sound and breath dissolve into the heart, the gross movements, the air within the veins cease, so one faints for a moment. At the time of all of that, one should not stray from the bardo instructions and the state of self-luminous non-conceptualization. The third is when consciousness dissolves into space. The three knots separate, the body becomes heavy and falls like a stone, wind and mind dissolve into the base, so thoughts cease on their own. Awareness, like a spark rising from the heart, takes the fine thread of the white banner vein as its path, and when it appears in the lamp at the door, the two strands of five-colored light, called the nose-rope of Vajrasattva, appear to pierce the center of the sky, and one is liberated by awareness into self-appearance. After that, when space dissolves into clear light, appearance changes without the time changing. One is liberated by recognizing that the appearance of five lights spreads and arises, pervading the sky. After that, when clear light dissolves into union, one's own body also becomes clear as light, and all appearances are the body of light and the mandala of the five families, countless.

It appears like a silk tent. At that time, remember the instructions by knowing the key to entering. First, consciousness enters light: From one's own heart, the rays of light shine from that appearance to the hearts of all. Abide in natural meditation for five days. That is, although appearances arise simultaneously, certainty is gradually attained. On the first day, Vairochana appears. On the second day, Akshobhya appears. On the third day, Ratnasambhava appears. On the fourth day, Amitabha appears. On the fifth day, the mandala of the union of the father and mother Amoghasiddhi appears. At that time, recognize it as one's own appearance and rest upon it. Liberate in that state and benefit sentient beings through emanation, and dissolve into the expanse. That is, liberation occurs wherever one recognizes one's own nature. Light enters consciousness: Rays of light pierce from the hearts of the union into one's own heart, and as a result, all the unions gather and dissolve into oneself. At that very moment, if one recognizes one's own nature, one is primordially liberated in five instants. The body becomes clear as light, and the key to spontaneous manifestation of clairvoyance and meditation arises. That is, in the first instant, one recognizes it as one's own appearance. In the second instant, one abides in the state of knowledge. In the third instant, one is liberated from the state of abiding. In the fourth instant, from the state of liberation, emanation arises for the benefit of sentient beings. In the fifth instant, one dissolves primordially and dwells in inner clarity. These instants are the instants of complete action. The days of meditation are the habit of abiding in one samadhi from before until the subsequent conceptual thought has not arisen. Then, dissolving into the wisdom of union: A single white ray of light shines from one's own heart, pervading all that appears in the realm of the senses, in the form of silk. In the center of that, a white bindu adorned with four small dots appears, which is the self-radiance of mirror-like wisdom. Above that is yellow silk, above that is red silk, and above that is blue silk. In the center of each of these, a small bindu of the same color as each, adorned with four tiny dots, appears, which is the self-radiance of each wisdom. The reason why green silk does not appear is said to be because the qualities of accomplished action are not complete, but complete and incomplete are the same, because the essence is one. Then, from the heart of one's own body, which is clear and green, to the four directions, white, yellow, red, and green
