From my clear arising, it is called abiding in the appearance of the wisdom light essence. Although the aspect of active compassion arises outwardly, it does not extend to conceptualization. Because it moves from the ground, it is called the scattering of awareness. This appearance clearly manifests outwardly from the original reality. In the interval before mistaking it for ignorant sentient beings, this appearance is called the boundary between darkness and light. As it is said in the 'All-Illuminating': "Initially, the ground appears above; symbolic appearances arise above in light; Buddhas and sentient beings abide below; between these two, power is attained; this is said to be the intermediate kalpa." Therefore, the actual thing that must be ascertained is that from the great primordial purity of the spontaneously accomplished jewel of inner clarity wisdom, the outward manifestation of power is the spontaneously accomplished appearance of self-nature, the manner in which the four periods of meditation gradually arise. As it is said in 'Self-Arising': "Before I existed, the original ground reality abided in this way: it is called the great ground of primordial purity, abiding in the three aspects of essence, self-nature, and compassion. Below that is the reality of the spontaneously accomplished jewel. Below that is the great ground appearance. Below that is the appearance of the enjoyment body." As it is said, the great primordial purity, as previously explained, is the inner clarity of essence, self-nature, and compassion, single-mindedly abiding in non-conceptualization. From that, the radiating wisdom compassion itself, in the spontaneously accomplished light house of the ground, the inner clarity of awareness wisdom, impartial wisdom, like a spark of fire, abides in the center as life or essence. Upwardly moving is the horse of wisdom, and downwardly radiating are the rays of wisdom light, equal to fire, possessing the power to ripen, possessing the power to pervade and perfect. The four branches of life-force wind exist in a very subtle blueprint form, but without actual accomplishment, therefore radiating in the expanse. The state of the radiating ground not being interrupted has the nature of non-obscurity and clarity. From that, the compassion of inner clarity, only a slight movement of awareness, using wind as a horse, in the outer clarity, generates non-conceptual awareness, becoming knowing wisdom, therefore the essence of the spontaneously accomplished jewel arises. In the second instant of moving from the ground, the body of inner light clarity and wisdom compassion simultaneously arise outwardly, therefore the essence or appearance of wisdom light arises, which is self-naturally.

It is called "The Appearance of Spontaneous Fulfillment." In this, firstly, the way of the appearance of spontaneous fulfillment is shown on the first day, which is one. Secondly, the way of the appearance of the great ground appearance is shown, which is two. Thirdly, the way of the appearance of the enjoyment body is shown, which is three. Fourthly, the way of the appearance of the emanation body is shown, which is four. Among these, the first is that the appearance of the first day of meditation, in which the two, primordial inner light and compassion, shine back into the realm of essence, has six ways of appearing, two doors, nine ways of existing qualities, and nine ways of arising, making a total of twenty-six dharmas. As it is also said in "Self-Arisen," "Below that is the way of abiding of the spontaneously fulfilled jewel." In that, there are six ways of appearing, and two doors. That is also called spontaneous fulfillment, and also called the uncertain ground, and also called the ground appearing in various ways. Below that is the ground of turning back. Therefore, here, the ways of existing qualities and the ways of arising are explained first. Thus, on the first day of appearance, because the inner light appears in the realm of essence, the appearance of the outer realm is like the stainless sky of autumn, above, below, and in all directions. The pure lands of clear light appear like the sun, moon, planets, and stars, so all of existence appears as the body, which is clear, radiant, naturally beautiful, and emitting rays of light. From such an appearance, wisdom arises, light arises, awareness arises, compassion arises, and the appearance of existence arises. Similarly, ignorance arises, karma arises, buddhas arise, and sentient beings arise. Also, that appearance has essence, has compassion, has ability, and has appearance. Now, mind can arise, intention can arise, confusion can arise, and also non-confusion can arise. Thus, that appearance has the subtle basis of both pure and impure, existing like a seed, so all of samsara and nirvana are the great elements from which they arise. As it is also said in the "Praise of Names," "The great elements, the Bhagavan." Thus it is taught. The six ways of appearing are: appearing like compassion, compassion arises for sentient beings; appearing like light, rays of light appear to pervade the world; appearing like the body, all appearances appear as a collection of the five families; appearing like wisdom, the pure buddha-fields are clear in the direct perception of the senses; appearing like non-duality, abiding in non-conceptual samadhi; appearing like the exhaustion of extremes, the nature of reality
