Knowing appearances as self-appearances, even at the time of liberation, it is like the outer light of crystal dissolving into inner clarity. It is said that one has gained a firm foothold on the primordial ground, which can also be understood from this. In short, the primordial ground is not established anywhere, and it is like a mirror that serves as the basis for the manifestation of anything. Secondly, in terms of meaning, there are two aspects. The way the impure ground is formed is as follows: From the three aspects of the primordial ground—inner clarity, essence, nature, and compassion—the essence, the self-radiance of emptiness without distinctions, serves as the basis for the illusion of objects, opening up the opportunity for all empty spaces. The subtle essence of awareness-emptiness inwardly becomes the basis for all eight aggregates of the alaya consciousness, serving as the deluded object. From the nature of clear radiance, the nature of light, within the light of the nature of dualistic appearance, it becomes the basis for the illusion of the body, becoming a category with colors and characteristics. From this, the light of manifested images outwardly becomes the object of manifestation for each of the four elements. Compassion manifests without the cessation of awareness and skill. In terms of the two, subtle and coarse, the consciousness that arises from the alaya consciousness as the seven aggregates in between, the consciousness that is projected onto any object, with five moments and so on, the consciousness is like the surface of a mirror, the awareness with a basis for manifestation does not cease, and it becomes the cause for the subsequent moment. Since the manifested object is not truly established, it does not grasp the appearance of the object, like the consciousness before falling asleep, although there is a manifested object, the grasping object does not arise, and it becomes the basis for the subtle and is deluded. From this, in the second moment, afflictions, neutral states, form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, the seven objects, the coarse consciousness that arises in the form of acceptance and rejection, becomes the basis for the seven aggregates and is deluded, becoming various habits of samsara, becoming the alaya consciousness and so on. Thus, now in the daytime, when consciousness is projected, it also arises from the alaya consciousness, manifesting as an aggregate that corresponds to the object, and at night when going to sleep, it dissolves into the alaya consciousness, and it is believed that the alaya consciousness temporarily dissolves into the primordial realm. This can also be symbolized by an example from one aspect, such as when a person is resting, the consciousness temporarily does not think about anything and remains in a neutral state, this is the alaya consciousness. From this, the manifested object temporarily does not cease, it is clear and bright, but it does not involve grasping, this clear and non-conceptual appearance is the appearance of the alaya consciousness.

For example, when a sound is heard, the thought of whether it is pleasant or unpleasant arises in the mind, that is ear consciousness. Similarly, one should understand this for other senses as well. Also, when sleeping at night, the seven gross consciousnesses that discriminate about form, sound, smell, taste, touch, etc., before falling asleep, the consciousness is clear and without discrimination, dissolving into the alaya consciousness. The alaya consciousness also gradually dissolves into the non-discriminating sleep consciousness, and then dissolves into the unborn, unceasing, inconceivable dharmakaya, abiding for a moment. Realizing that state is called realizing the non-discriminating ground luminosity. After that, if one does not move from that state, the sleep luminosity will appear; if one moves, alaya will arise from dharmakaya, and from alaya, various dream images will appear in the alaya consciousness. When waking up from that, the seven consciousnesses arise from the alaya consciousness, and during the day they are used on objects of acceptance and rejection. Second, the way the pure ground functions is: the original ground, the essence of the three, essence, nature, and compassion, emptiness-clarity, free from elaboration, is the ground of the dharmakaya. Nature luminosity, great bliss of appearance and emptiness, is the ground of the sambhogakaya. Compassion without interruption, possessing awareness, is the ground of the nirmanakaya. Thus, whether appearing and clear in samsara or nirvana, it does not go beyond the three, essence, nature, and compassion. As it is said in the "Chapter of Silk and Brocade Houses" of the Body Tantra: "Even at the time of realizing enlightenment, it does not go beyond the three, essence, nature, and compassion. Even at the time of being deluded and wandering in samsara, it does not go beyond the three, essence, nature, and compassion." So it is said. Third, there are three ways to abandon disputes about that: abandoning what is unreasonable by examining appearance and non-appearance; abandoning what is unreasonable by examining one and many; abandoning what is unreasonable by examining delusion and non-delusion. The first point has two parts: the dispute is, is the original ground apparent or not apparent? If it is like the first statement, it will become like a gross appearance, possessing delusion; if it is like the second statement, it will become not appearing as body and wisdom, so it is said. The second answer is: because nothing appears outwardly, and the essence is pure from the beginning, there is no fault of becoming gross. Inwardly, the three bodies are inseparable, so there is no fault of becoming not appearing as wisdom, neither of these two faults exists. Second,
