In appearance, the nature is emptiness. Not falling to either extreme of permanence or annihilation. Blue, yellow, red, white, green, and so on, in the space of the five wisdom lights, the mandala of the five families is naturally luminous without interruption. Vast, clear, unchanging, appearance that has never been mistaken. Wisdom that has never been liberated. The self-appearing pure Dharma nature. From the very beginning, it dwells luminously in clarity and emptiness. Wisdom that is uninterrupted from self-arising. Buddhahood is attained through spontaneous accomplishment. The Dharma nature is free from elaboration. The appearance of great purity. A view without partiality. Vast, clear, unchanging. Wisdom is uninterrupted. The Dharma nature is without delusion. The outer bonds do not break. The five lights of inner wisdom are uninterrupted. It abides in the essence of body and wisdom. Thus it is said. From "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "Unobstructed potential manifests in any way. Empty and clear, knowing and unchanging." Thus it is said. The spontaneously accomplished wisdom of self-nature is: It abides in the state of empty clarity and its own radiance. So it is. So, is such an appearance of self-nature luminosity a permanent, substantial entity? It is not. From the former: "Because empty clarity and self-radiance are uninterrupted, there is no limitation or partiality." Thus it is said. From "Self-Arising": "The spontaneously accomplished wisdom of self-nature transcends the extremes of permanence and annihilation." Thus it is said. From "Self-Liberation": "The stains of the four extremes are self-purified." Thus it is said. Because of the emptiness of appearance itself, it does not fall to the extreme of permanence, like a reflection of the moon in water. Because of the appearance of emptiness itself, it does not fall to the extreme of annihilation, like an image. Appearance and emptiness are inseparable, like a rainbow in the sky. Since the elaborations of appearance and emptiness, and so on, are not established anywhere, like the direct perception of the senses, from the very beginning it abides in great inner clarity. Therefore, that initial spontaneous accomplishment is also: The essence of clarity, empty from the beginning, is the Dharmakaya. The nature of clarity, appearing in various ways, is the Sambhogakaya. From the aspect of clarity, the uninterrupted manifestation of awareness is the compassion Nirmanakaya. Clear emptiness is unchanging, abiding like the luminous orb of the sun and moon. Third, the expansion of compassion is explained. That is, if the original ground is measured from the aspect of compassion, its essence is like the pure autumn sky. In the state of non-conceptual wisdom, self-nature manifests as knowing wisdom, like a mirror.

Like the face of a ga.pa, within the wisdom of the ground-state, the all-knowing wisdom abides with its five characteristics manifestly. That wisdom, which is inwardly clear and free from elaboration, is also the wisdom of the dharmadhatu, as its essence is emptiness and unchanging. Its nature is clear and its manifestation is unceasing, thus it is the mirror-like wisdom. Even in the mere appearance of one's own form and wisdom, the clinging to duality dissolves into the expanse, thus it is the wisdom of equality. Without mixing with any knowable object, the knowing aspect is clear within, thus it is the discriminating wisdom. As it abides primordially as the basis for the spontaneous accomplishment of the two benefits, it abides as the great wisdom of accomplishing activities. From that state, the outwardly clear awareness manifests unceasingly as the wisdom of all-knowing, thus it serves as the basis for the spontaneous compassion that arises towards sentient beings, symbolizing the close connection between samsara and nirvana. Furthermore, if this wisdom were not present within as a manifestation on the primordial ground, then after attaining Buddhahood on the ground, the benefit of sentient beings would not arise. If it were present as something outwardly coarse, it would contradict the nature of the youthful vase body, where the outer shell is unbroken, and the precious wisdom abides within without any distinction between inner and outer, thus everything is internalized. The inwardly clear awareness, the wisdom of all-knowing, is of an extremely subtle nature and does not radiate outwards, yet it does not cease to be the basis for radiation, thus it abides as the womb from which the two knowledges arise. The way in which it radiates as the two knowledges is as follows: from the state of inward clarity, when wisdom engages with the appearance of objects in outward clarity, although the objects appear in various forms, it sees them as the great emptiness, without ever moving from the essence of the ground from the very beginning, this is the wisdom of knowing as it is (Tibetan: ཇི་ལྟ་བ་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས།). Having known the dharma-nature that transcends conceptual examples, it teaches the dharma of emptiness by nature to the realm of sentient beings. Although objects appear in various forms, it sees their nature, the qualities of purity and impurity, etc., as a great manifestation without mixing, this is the wisdom of knowing as many as there are (Tibetan: ཇི་སྙེད་པ་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས།). Having known the qualities like the moon in water, it speaks of the inconceivable differences in the various vehicles of liberation for the realm of sentient beings, such as delusion and non-delusion, and the means of reversing delusion. Therefore, the primordial wisdom of the ground, the manifestation of compassion, abiding in inward clarity, these two wisdoms manifest.
