Thus it is said. This is the difficult point of this Dharma, which is naturally known from the blessings of the self-born lotus. In the future, those who recognize the meditation of self-nature should regard it as arising from the power of this letter and from my lineage. The method of mixing samatha and vipassanā: After gaining some stability in that state, rise from sitting and practice the three postures of the wrathful, the giant's throwing, and the lion's leap. The first is to rise from the state of meditation without losing the state of meditation while sitting quietly, and to make the posture of bending the right and stretching the left, and to move the eyes back and forth and mix them with meditation. After that is stable, the posture of the giant's throwing is to throw in a swaying manner with slow steps without losing the state of meditation. After that is stable, the posture of the lion's leap is to walk fast and jump far without losing the state of meditation, walk slowly and stay on the ground, stand up in an instant and shout loudly, rejoice in remembrance and thought, and stay in non-thought, etc. After practicing, all actions are mixed with the meditation of self-nature, and all actions, speech, remembrance, and thought appear as the play of Dharma-nature, without distinction between samatha and vipassanā, without distinction between day and night, without the Dharma of acceptance and rejection, without the mind to be meditated on, without the calculation of right and wrong, all are mixed into one play of the self-radiance of awareness, even if it goes freely, it does not lose its measure, even if it is not deliberately meditated on, it is not separated from samadhi, so the meaning of the exhaustion of Dharma-nature is realized without the benefit or harm of view, meditation, action, and result, which transcends good and evil, acceptance and rejection. The yogi of the continuous stream of non-meditation will naturally abide. Secondly, abiding appears as the ornament of the mind, scattering appears as the play of the mind, and abiding in the state of non-duality and equality. The first is when the three doors of body, speech, and mind are relaxed and spread out, and abide quietly. Let various thoughts of affirmation and negation arise in various ways, and when you put everything down and look at it broadly, like the waves calming on the ocean, the awareness that can arise and the external objects that arise do not exist as two. Putting everything down, the mind is without foundation, separated from the root, and naturally abides in the state of the base of self-nature, which is the original and pure state, and the Dharmakaya is immutable.

Introducing the view of that intention. Second, from that very state, various thoughts arise, and without engaging in affirmation or negation, hope or doubt, one does not cling to whatever thought arises, allowing it to be free. Abandoning the knots of past and future thoughts, the present awareness spontaneously arises and dissolves, and however the nature of habit unfolds, it does not stray from the play of dharmata, like a great wave arising from the ocean. Introducing the view of self-liberation, the essence of self-arising, the compassion that is without cessation. Third, the absence of duality between arising and abiding: when abiding increases, one squints the eyes, and although arising occurs, one leaves it in its natural state, thus abiding. When arising increases, one keeps the eyes still and places them evenly, thus abiding. The absence of duality between arising and abiding is like a small wave arising from the ocean dissolving into the ocean. Furthermore, one does not prolong abiding, does not negate arising, and does not fabricate equality. However the mind arises, one does not cling to it in that way, thus introducing the view of dharmata, the great perfection of original liberation, which transcends affirmation, negation, acceptance, rejection, hope, and doubt. Thus, by abiding in self-arising, one is liberated into self-liberation. By abiding in indeterminacy, one is liberated into non-grasping. By abiding in original liberation, one is liberated into groundlessness. By abiding in the immediate, one is liberated into instant impact. By abiding in self-liberation, one is liberated into appearance-emptiness. Moreover, without abandoning conceptual thoughts, one is liberated from the ground, thus it is the conviction of abandoning effort in repeated liberation. Whatever conceptual thoughts arise are liberated in their own place, thus it is the conviction of not relying on the antidote of clinging to memory. The six objects are liberated upon being directly seen, thus it is the conviction of being free from the consciousness that clings to past and future. Knowing good and bad as completely liberated, thus it is the conviction of being free from bias of acceptance and rejection. In short, whatever awareness arises, its nature, which transcends bondage and liberation, is determined to be free from going and coming, and it is called self-mind liberation. There is no going from one to another, The mind that no one liberates, Perfect from the ground, there is no coming and going, Examined, it is not found, there is no reason, Without a root, emptiness-clarity abides, That mind that abides in self-clarity, Liberated by the key point, there is no partiality, Liberated by time, there is no dependence, Liberated without effort, there is no striving, Liberated by itself, there is no antidote, Liberated from the beginning, there is no repetition.
