The increase of outer appearance is: When the teeth and lips slightly touch, mix the wind and consciousness with the three Hūṃs (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) into one, and sing the melodious and long Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) sound, visualizing that all appearances are filled with Hūṃs (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), shining like stars. The outer appearance also arises with Hūṃs (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) shining like stars, this is the standard. The increase of the inner aggregates is: When reciting Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), visualize those outer Hūṃs (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) entering through the nostrils and subtly dissolving into the body. The feeling of physical discomfort disappears, and the feeling of being filled with Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) is the standard. The necessity is that all inner and outer appearances become without self-nature. Second, practicing strength also has two aspects: Practicing strength on outer appearances is: Visualize a dark blue, burning Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) that blows all external objects, large and small, in all directions, and recite the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) sound strongly and powerfully. The feeling that the appearance becomes empty and chaotic is the standard. Practicing strength on the inner aggregates is: With the same visualization, completely permeate your own body without any omission. The body appears like a reflection of the moon in water, and the experience of selflessness arises, this is the standard of accomplishment. The necessity is that all phenomena, inner and outer, that appear as substantial, will be liberated like light and rainbows. Third, seeking suppleness is: Place a stick in front of you, visualize wrapping a rope around it with the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) sound, and when it reaches the top, it unwinds outward, focus your awareness on this and recite the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) sound for a long time. The feeling that the awareness remains clear and bright wherever it is focused is the standard. In this way, there is the necessity of being able to transform it to any object. Fourth, incorporating it into the path is: Visualize a path in front of you that is like the crawling of a worm, winding and turning, reaching the end of a distant mountain peak, and recite the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) sound for a long time, focusing your mind on extending infinitely beyond that path, and the experience of joy, sorrow, etc., arises, this is the standard. In this way, there is the necessity of incorporating it into the habits of body and speech. Having done the preliminary practices of speech in this way, there are three necessities: Commonly, it purifies the sins of speech, obtains qualities, and reverses attachment to phenomena. Specifically, speech will no longer fall into samsara, and will be liberated in the Sambhogakaya. Ultimately, it will pass beyond suffering in the realm of Vajra Speech. The third is the preliminary practice of mind, which also has three: First, investigating the root; second, seeking out the flaws; and third, examining the nature of reality. First, investigating the root

is, where do these three, body, speech, and mind, wander? Who is the doer of all happiness and suffering, affirmation and negation? And who transmigrates and passes through past and future lives? When examining where the master resides, knowing that the mind is the master is like recognizing a thief. Searching for flaws is: examining whether the mind and its object appearance are one or different. Also, are the three, body, speech, and mind, one or different? If one, then the mind should also be seen and heard like the body and speech. If different, then the body is an indivisible atom, speech is a traceless disappearance, and the mind is like a bird flying without a trace. Do the different entities as agent and actor exist? If examined, since the relationship is not established, it is neither one nor different. Thus, the aggregation of three that is neither two nor one does not in the slightest way establish itself as one or different through association. Similarly, for external form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and for internal mind, when the mind grasps, and the object appears as form, when examining whether the grasper and consciousness are one or different, one realizes that dependent arising without an object is one, cutting off the root of grasping and being grasped, collapsing the fortress of dualistic grasping, extinguishing the appearance of self and other, pacifying the delusion of enemy and friend, clearing away the clouds of affirmation and negation, and reaching the view of suchness like the sky. Among the three ways of examining reality, the first is examining the place of origin and the originator: when the mind appears on an object, does the mind arise from the object, or does the mind arise from the mind? If the mind arises from the object, if the object is coarse, then it cannot be broken down into indivisible atoms, therefore there is no dharma of the object arising, so the arising mind from it cannot be established. If the object is subtle, then examining color, shape, and parts cannot be found. If the mind arises from the mind, then at the moment itself, the mind will become two parts, because there are two parts, the place of origin and the originator. Thus, since the mind does not have two parts in an instant, the place of origin of the mind arising from the mind cannot be established. However, if one thinks it has arisen, does the mind say that? Is there writing? Or are you thinking it yourself? If it says that or writes, then what? If one thinks there is nothing, then one goes there, the appearance is darkness. If one thinks, does one go there? Therefore, what is constructed by the mind is fabricated, therefore nature cannot be established, and that
