If you cling, you are bound; if you don't cling, you are liberated. If you cling, even virtuous contemplation and meditation will bind you, just as images appear without the collection of form. If you don't cling, even the five poisons of affliction can liberate you, just as understanding the essence of images prevents the mirror from being stained. When compassion dissolves within, like the back of a mirror turned outward, no good or bad images appear. On the clear surface of the mirror, the state of body and wisdom being inseparable, the single, unwavering realization abides. Secondly, measuring by the three abidings. By abiding in the wisdom of the dharmadhatu for a long time, three measures of stable abiding will arise. When the wind that moves external appearances is exhausted, the wisdom of the dharmadhatu abides without coming or going. When the wind that moves the internal aggregates is exhausted, the body abides without movement. When the wind that moves secret thoughts is exhausted, conceptual thoughts abide without changing. At this time, measurement can be done through dreams, and two signs appear in body, speech, and mind. For the diligent, dreams dissolve into the dharmadhatu and cease; for the intermediate, clear light and great bliss appear; for the inferior, they realize it is a dream and are grasped by it. The signs appear in the three doors, with three signs for each of the four appearances, totaling twelve. First, the three signs of the manifestation of dharmata are: the body is like a turtle placed in a container, without action or movement, abiding in one place; speech is like a mute, unwilling to speak; the mind is like being seized by a dakini, appearing scattered but with a direction grasped. The three signs of increasing experience are: the body is like a person afflicted with illness, devoid of grooming and adornment; speech is like a madman, all words spoken are meaningless babble; the mind is like a person poisoned by poison, no longer returning to the three realms. The three signs of the perfection of awareness are: the body is like an elephant stuck in mud, the five elements become transparent in an instant; speech is like a child in a clay pot, whatever is said benefits others and becomes a cause for faith; the mind is like a person cured of measles, no longer returning to the three realms, full of confidence. The three signs of the exhaustion of dharmata are: the body is like a corpse in a charnel ground, even surrounded by five hundred executioners, there is no fear or shame; speech is like a rock, without

Exhausting energy and imitating others. The mind is like a mist in the sky, and in an instant, the accumulation of habitual patterns fills without a trace. (3) Fixing with the three attainments, the first of which is gaining autonomy over birth: At this time, when the appearance of the aggregates ceases and no longer appears as an obstructive object, if one wishes to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, one should focus awareness on one's own finger and look at it. All appearances will return to themselves, and the form like the moon in the water of appearance will accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. If awareness is injected into sentient beings such as humans, even if the five heinous crimes are committed, the elements will naturally purify in this very self and attain fulfillment. This is the key to the abiding of the self-born wisdom of awareness. At that time, even if awareness is injected into an inanimate object, it can still move and make sounds. The second is gaining autonomy over entry: By focusing awareness on the finger and abiding in one's own nature, one can attain fulfillment there without a trace. The third is gaining autonomy over wind and mind: Wind and mind are workable, so all the qualities of wind can arise. At the time of transference of consciousness of other sentient beings, by injecting one's own awareness into them, even if they commit the five heinous crimes, they can attain Buddhahood together with oneself. This is the key to the absence of good and bad in karma. For inanimate objects, one can penetrate without obstruction, and clairvoyance will manifest without obstruction. Fourth, showing the extent of liberation with the four confidences, divided into two: The two upper confidences are that even if one hears the qualities of the Three Jewels, one has no desire to attain them, nor does one have the worry of not attaining them, because one realizes that there is no other Buddha than self-awareness. The two lower confidences are that even if one hears the lifespan and suffering of the six realms, one has no desire not to fall into samsara, nor does one have the worry of falling, because they dissolve into the realm of awareness, so one realizes that there is no one who can fall into samsara. Thus, for the marginal support, there are two necessities: temporarily, one can accomplish one's respective needs, and ultimately, one can rely on the support of the superiors and attain nirvana without remainder. Third, the way to seize the self-ground of the great liberation place is: Thus, after the four appearances are complete, one is naturally liberated in the great realm of primordial purity. For example, when a crystal ball is wiped clean, it naturally emits light. Once it is separated from the condition of sunlight, the five lights dissolve into inner clarity and abide. From the very beginning of primordial purity, external manifestation
