The transformation of the five aggregates into the five bodies and five wisdoms is a sign of spontaneous accomplishment. The appearance of the four mothers is a sign of the purification of the four elements and the benefit of beings through the four activities. The appearance of the male and female bodhisattvas is also a sign of the purification of the realm of the eight consciousness aggregates. The six Thupas are also a sign of the purification of the six afflictions and the purification of the six perfections. The appearance of Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri as two is also a sign of the purification of skillful means and wisdom, appearance and emptiness, due to the non-duality of original purity and spontaneous presence. The four gatekeepers are also a sign of benefiting beings with the four immeasurables. The appearance of five round vases is also a sign of the primordial Dharmakaya, the great original purity, being without beginning or end, and abiding in the body of the youthful vase. The appearance of five colors is also a sign of possessing the five wisdoms. The complete ornaments are a sign of the peaceful and wrathful rays of light. The vajra in the middle is a sign of unchanging self-awareness. Having five necklaces is also a sign of the purification of the five afflictions in the field of appearance. The five connected cords are a sign of the omnipresence of compassion. The white conch shell and the mirror are signs of the stainlessness of awareness and the unobstructed emptiness and clarity. The peacock umbrella is a sign of the clarity of the four lamps dissolving into the space. The four victory banners adorning the four corners are a sign of making the Buddha's teachings indestructible. The four pennants adorning the four directions are a sign of the fame spreading in the ten directions. The extensive arrangement of offerings and tormas is also a sign of the need to please the guru, yidam, and dakini. Furthermore, the various decorations of the arrangement are also a sign that the empowerment needs to be complete with the five perfections. The Vajra Master possessing ornaments is also a sign of the spontaneous descent of great blessings at the time of empowerment. Thus, the deity is shown to the disciple with a golden needle. These are the preliminaries to the main practice. Now is the actual empowerment. After the disciple offers the mandala, he prays: Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri, wisdom empowerment, please grant it to us. Recite this three times.
