In the place with the lake of purification, the great scholar Garab Dorje himself contemplated and resided. At that time, in the city of Sho'khyams Nagpo in the land of China, a son named Shri Seddha was born to the householder Gedan Sangpo and the mother Nangsal Danma. At the age of fifteen, he became extremely proficient in the five sciences, including grammar, logic, and mathematics, under the master Hasti Bhala. On the way to the city of Golden, the noble Avalokiteshvara appeared from the center of the sky and prophesied, "O fortunate one, if you wish to attain the fruit in one lifetime, go to the great charnel ground, the Cool Grove." After saying this, he disappeared. Then, in order to quickly realize the fruit of secret mantra, thinking that he would listen to the meaning of outer and inner mantras for seven years, he learned completely all the tantras, transmissions, and instructions of outer and inner mantras from the untouchable master Bela Rakirti to the east of Mount Wutai. For a while, when he entered the bathing pond in the early morning, the Great Compassionate One prophesied again as before and disappeared. Thinking that India was very difficult to reach, he decided to practice swift feet accomplishment. After practicing for three years, he attained the siddhi of swift feet, and without touching the ground by a cubit (about 20 centimeters), he traveled for nine days and nights to the great charnel ground, the Cool Grove, where he met the great scholar Garab Dorje. He prostrated, took his feet to his head, and asked to be accepted as a disciple. Having been granted permission, for twenty-five years, he listened to and practiced the empowerments and instructions, including the tantras, transmissions, and instructions of the Supreme Bindu, and obtained a body of clear light like a moon in water, thereby attaining the supreme accomplishment. At that time, the dakinis residing in the charnel ground and the great Langkas who guarded the fields offered their life essence and vowed to protect the teachings, covering the area with immeasurable clouds of offerings such as umbrellas, banners, and flags. Then, the great scholar Palgyi Senge traveled three yojanas (an ancient Indian unit of distance, approximately 11-16 kilometers per yojana) northwest from that charnel ground to the great charnel ground called the Rough Transformation Grove, where the wind raged every day and fire blazed every night, and which was inhabited by the worldly mothers and many dakinis.

He appeared at the lake that purifies all and the stupa that brings happiness, and at the abode of the powerful deity who delights the worldly gods, practicing asceticism and dwelling to teach the Dharma to the dakinis. At that time, in the city of the radiant and precious land of Oddiyana (Swat Valley, Pakistan), in a crystal palace that was extremely pure inside and out, pervaded by the light of jewel lamps, King Indrabodhi was surrounded by ministers inside and out, together with one hundred and eight consorts. Because he had no son, on the fifteenth day of the first month of summer, he made offerings to the Three Jewels, took out the sutra called "Cloud of Dharma," built houses for giving, and generously gave to all beings. After many years, all the treasures were exhausted, but beggars continued to come. So the appointed people said, "Now all the storehouses are exhausted, and there is nothing to give to you." Suddenly, some who had come said, "If you do not give to us, then all that you have given before is meaningless." Hearing this, the king asked for a method of inexhaustible enjoyment. He learned that on an island in the outer ocean, on the head of the dragon princess Beautiful Woman, there was a precious jewel that fulfilled all desires, and that if one begged from a bodhisattva who had compassion for sentient beings, it would be given. So he ordered a captain who had taken jewels from the outer ocean many times, "I want to take a jewel from the island, please show me the way." The captain replied, "Okay." So he prepared the necessary items for the sea. The ministers urged the king not to go, but the king did not listen. On an auspicious day, he set sail on a ship with a retinue of five hundred merchants. At that time, four large flags were raised in the four directions, and they sailed when the wind was favorable. Four sheets of lead were hung in the four corners, and they stopped when the wind was unfavorable. They carried conches, pigeons, and crows to detect mountains and water monsters and kill them, and to identify the direction of their own country. They cut the ship's ropes, and the beautiful banners fluttered in the seasonal wind, like the king of swans flying in the sky.
