One cannot settle down, warmth arises, and the mind will settle in non-thought. At that time, the body naturally relaxes, maintaining a state of non-thought. This signifies that the three upward points of the vajra represent the three: essence, nature, and compassion, while the downward points represent the three kayas. The waist being drawn together into one represents that the path is indivisible. Its necessity is threefold: commonly, it purifies the sins of the body and pacifies obstacles; especially, the clinging to the body recedes, and one will not fall into samsara; ultimately, the body vajra becomes inseparable from the nirmanakaya. Secondly, the preliminary practices of speech are fourfold. In the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says: "Speech abides as the syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), through blessing and diligent practice, seeking a friend to introduce to the path." Here, the first of these is divided into two: the blessing of external appearances. In a secluded place, sit with the seven-point posture. Visualize a blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable in the heart, making it appear clearly. Then, with teeth and lips barely touching, blend breath and awareness into one with the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable, chanting the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) mantra melodiously and for a long time. In this way, many Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllables will naturally emerge from the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the heart, exiting from the right nostril. All external appearances are filled with the light of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllables, and all appearances manifest as the nature of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). This is the blessing. The necessity of this is to liberate appearances from being without self-nature. Furthermore, the blessing of the internal aggregates is: again, reciting the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable as before, all the external Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllables enter unimpeded from the left ear, visualizing the entire inside of the body being filled with light, and then holding the breath. The body naturally fills with Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllables, and one feels discomfort. This is the blessing. The necessity of this is to liberate the aggregates from being without self-nature. The second is again divided into two: the diligent practice of external appearances. The Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable in the heart is clear as before, reciting the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable with intense power. In this way, many dark blue, strong, rough, sharp, fast, and powerful Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllables emerge from the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the heart, corresponding to the desired size of the area, piercing all external appearances into dust and shattering them. Visualize all appearances purifying from the nature of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) into clarity, emptiness, and non-reality. This is diligent practice. The necessity of this is to liberate appearances from falsehood into luminosity.

It is also necessary. The inner exercise for the body is: As before, recite Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ), and visualize the Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllable with four characteristics, penetrating like wind from all parts of your body, front, back, top, and bottom, without any obstruction, making a swishing sound. Visualize the muscles of the body jumping and aching like bubbles, and the body being without self-nature like the moon in water. If such a feeling arises, it means you are skilled. The necessity of doing this is that the body dissolves and is liberated into luminosity. The third is kneading: Erect a support object like a small tree in front. Recite Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) with a pleasant and long sound. From the Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllable in the heart, continuously generate a rosary of Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllables, gradually winding from the root of the support object to the top, then relax and rest for a moment. Then, unwind it in order, gather it inward, and completely dissolve it into the Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllable in the heart, and then rest. In this way, unite wind, mind, and Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) into one, and like practicing going back and forth inside and outside, enjoy it on the path. The arrogance of afflictions subsides, and you gain suppleness of mind, being able to transform the object at will. This is the meaning of kneading. The fourth is entering the path: Unite your body and wind-mind into one, visualizing it as a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllable. In front, enter a path like the way ghosts walk, and go forward, resting slightly at the turning points. Visualize reaching the distant and boundless other shore, recite a long Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ) syllable, and naturally relax and rest. Then, return as before, and rest in your original place. In this way, initially, feelings of joy and sorrow, etc., will arise with varying degrees of intensity. Eventually, the body and mind will be filled with uncontaminated bliss. In this way, body, speech, and mind enter the correct path, afflictions naturally cease, and the experience of bliss-clarity-non-conceptuality easily arises. You must protect its self-nature. There are three necessities for these: Commonly, it purifies the sins of speech and pacifies obstacles. Especially, it eliminates the attachment to speech and prevents falling into samsara. Ultimately, speech vajra transforms into the complete enjoyment body, and the two become inseparable. The third is that there are three preliminaries for the mind. The scriptures say: The place where the mind first arises, the place where it dwells in the middle, and the place where it ultimately goes. By examining these three, you can tame the mind and understand the true nature of the mind. Thus it is said, the place where it first arises
