It arises from intense desire. When it arises in this way, the five afflictions transform into the five wisdoms, and the five aggregates abide in the five families, just like a cloth changing color. This shows the conditions for being a person. There are three things to do constantly in meditation: meditation combining day and night, and the secret instruction within it, which is the method of the ocean abiding, and at that time, the view of establishing the basis of appearance and existence. At that time, the afflictions will be expanded. There are three ways to practice these: holding the minds of gods and humans, the meditation of bodhisattvas, and the view of the Sugatas. There are three types of bodhisattva meditation: self-nature meditation will arise again for the unpredicted ordinary people, just like it is in the eyes of an arrow shaft, in the eyes of a rabbit and a hawk sleeping, and when the mind is drowsy and distracted. The meditation abiding on the ground is that if one sees the truth of the first ground, then up to the samadhi of the seventeen grounds, each has its own meditation. Corrective meditation is the sleeping yogi. For that yogi, there are two obstacles: the immediate obstacles are food and clothing, and the ultimate obstacle is entering the three realms based on dreams and habitual patterns. The antidote to this is to learn the four sessions of meditation: cutting off attachment to food is one session of meditation, cutting off attachment to clothing is one session of meditation, cutting off attachment to dreams is one session of meditation, and cutting off attachment to habitual patterns is one session of meditation. Among these, the first is cutting off attachment to food: relying on various essence extractions, and relying on profound dependent origination. The first is cutting off the flow of elements, eating wind as food, which is the disease of above and below, and the harmony of elements, which is the essence extraction of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, and the essence extraction of nectar and jewels, and so on. The second dependent origination is: meat combination, stone combination, resin combination, herb combination, and so on. The qualities of these will be clarified in their respective chapters. There are two ways to cut off attachment to clothing: dependent origination substances and samadhi wind. The first is three hot medicines, yak gall, brown sugar boiled and drunk will generate heat. The second is sitting squatting, drawing wind into the abdomen.

Fill the reed with breath and focus on the fire. Then slowly exhale through the nostrils. This generates heat, which in turn generates non-conceptual thought, and no living beings will arise. The method for severing attachment to dreams is: the key point of examination and the two of practice. Examination involves slowing down for a few days and doing some body massage. Then, for a few nights, examine the dreams. If you dream mostly of past habitual tendencies, it means that past attachment was strong, and it is of medium difficulty. If you dream mostly of what you are doing now, it is very easy. If you dream of places you have never been to before, people you don't recognize, and encounters, etc., it is difficult to sever. If you dream of all three mixed together, it means that the three habitual tendencies are mixed, which is very difficult. Then, practice involves grasping and taming, transforming, and severing. First, generate the aspiration beforehand, and whatever you dream, recognize it as a dream in the dream, and contemplate all appearances and sounds as mere dreams and illusions. Seal it with the seal of emptiness. Transformation involves transforming all appearances into the deity and meditating on it. Severing involves severing the dream by meditating on the key point of awareness. Among these, the best is to sever the continuity of dreams, the medium is to catch the dream, and the lowest is to dream of virtuous habitual tendencies, which is the sign of accomplishment. Severing the attachment to the root habitual tendencies is: do not deliberately abandon what exists, do not deliberately seek what does not exist, and do not be attached to what exists. That is, do not dwell on the past, do not anticipate the future, and do not rely on the continuum for present habitual tendencies, including antidotes. Appearances are liberated into appearances, so that the grasping of objects naturally dissolves. That is, letting appearance itself be liberated on top of appearance is like a bird carrying something away. Letting movement be liberated on top of movement is like a breeze in the sky. Letting appearance and awareness dissolve into non-duality is like water dissolving into water. In this way, one transcends the realm of habitual confusion and severs the attachment of seeing oneself as real. Realizing the intention of the Sugata is: transcending the breaks between sessions, therefore being equal to day and night, without any trace. Meditating on the grasping of the minds of gods and humans is: although twenty-one are shown from the sharp point of the heart, here seven are meditated upon. That is, a person with diligence first accumulates merit through pleasing the lama, etc., and then, in accordance with the meaning of the intention, sits comfortably on a comfortable seat in the vajra posture, focusing the mind on the white "A" (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: A, Chinese literal meaning: A) syllable, which is the tip of one's nose.
