There are three ways to grasp "self-illuminating non-grasping": It is like a skilled doctor diagnosing an illness, clearing away the disease, and attaining comfort. To take that wisdom as a path, "not cutting off the past, not welcoming the future, and having no grasping in the present": Practice like the sun rising in the sky of all-encompassing wisdom; practice like placing the pith instructions where wisdom abides into a tortoise shell. The power of wisdom is: it manifests in the five sense gates, the eye is without grasping and appears as emptiness, the ear hears and sound is empty, the nose senses and smell is empty, the tongue experiences and bliss is empty, the body is without grasping and touch is empty. The five qualities of wisdom are: when dissolving, there is no dullness; when clear, there is no distraction; when empty, there is no interruption; when abiding, there is no obstruction; and one does not grasp at things as real. Alternatively, the qualities of wisdom are: by realizing the five wisdoms, the five poisons are manifested as wisdom. The five places or paths where wisdom abides are: in the center of one's heart, the king of awareness abides self-illuminatingly by himself. In the Roma channel, the essence of bindu abides like a mustard seed; in the Kyangma channel, the essence of wind abides like a sesame seed; in the Kundha channel, the essence of light abides like a pea; in the Awadhuti channel, the essence of awareness abides like one-third of a horse's tail. The four doors through which wisdom manifests are: from the right eye, which "makes wisdom clear," the lamp of bindu emptiness manifests; from the left eye, the lamp of self-born wisdom, "the source of wisdom," manifests; from the right ear, the lamp of the pure realm of reality manifests; from the left ear, the lamp of far-reaching scented water manifests, thereby generating the consciousness of the five senses. There are two divisions of wisdom: the wisdom of the fundamental ground and the wisdom of grasping at characteristics. There are three aspects of the fundamental ground: the wisdom of essence purity, the wisdom of nature spontaneous accomplishment, and the wisdom of universal liberation through compassion, "because awareness dawns on everything." Because awareness itself has never been deluded, it abides in the wisdom of essence, originally pure, therefore it has the "key point" of beginninglessness of samsara; because the nature of awareness pervades everything, it abides in the wisdom of nature, spontaneously accomplished, therefore those who understand the key point cannot possibly not become Buddhas; because that awareness manifests in various ways, it abides in the wisdom of universal liberation through compassion, therefore liberation is complete without effort. Grasping at characteristics

The wisdoms are five: From the nature of reality, clear and unobstructed, is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. In essence, primordially pure, the reflections of samsara and nirvana clearly abide therein, is the mirror-like wisdom. Without moving from its own ground, and knowing all dharmas as equal, is the wisdom of equality. "It pervades equally without distinction," Clearly without attachment, is the discriminating awareness wisdom. These five wisdoms are indivisibly gathered in the nature of reality, because of the distinct "they appear as the characteristics of their respective appearances" wisdom. "If there is no wisdom from the scriptures, there is no increase of qualities, no enlightenment." "If there were no Buddha-dharmas like the ocean, they would disappear." Free from the extremes of effort and accomplishment, naturally accomplished, is the accomplishing activity wisdom. The definition is "because wisdom abides continuously," the Buddha who is primordially inherent, not born from a cause, not destroyed by a condition, without coming or going. Always abiding primordially at all times, not dependent on direction or before and after. Thus, the knowledge of that itself knows the meaning as it is, the Buddha with manifest conceptualization, and setting aside and knowing otherwise, because the peg of conceptualization is struck, the ground of non-retrogression is pressed. Introducing and repeating in the great wisdom beyond mind, is the fruit that does not need to be elevated from the path "because it is liberated on the ground," "because it is realized in spontaneous perfection, primordially pure," the wisdom that does not transform self-appearance into delusion, "because it abides in oneself from the beginning," the wisdom that does not come from the scriptures, "because there is no maker," the realization that does not rely on the continuum, "the Buddha is not born from a cause," the Buddha that does not come from the mind, "because the first son is liberated," the faith that does not come from the Dharma, "because the son is liberated at the beginning," the experience that does not come from meditation, when looking "the wisdom that transcends the looker" the view that is not seen, "the meaning of one's own way of abiding," the pith instruction that does not come from the lama, "because beings are liberated in their own place by grasping at self," because view and conduct are inseparable, wisdom is clear in its own place, "because the mind is not bound, because it is inseparable," the self-appearance of wisdom without meditation experience "ye," because dualistic grasping is separated, it arises spontaneously in the great self-"born" wisdom. This is called "The Lamp that Gathers Wisdom," completed by the great teacher Vimalamitra "copper letter version." Gya! Gya! Gya!
