Ah! Whatever virtuous aspirations have been accumulated in the past, accordingly, I have encountered the Dharma of essential meaning, and joy arises with faith in it. Some scholars say that view is a branch, but Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra, and Vairochana, etc., some Buddhas who actually appeared, the distinctions of their vehicles are said to be distinguished by view, and I follow them. Some proclaim that there is no view higher than Madhyamaka, but if the views of the Mahayana are not different, then what is the point of distinguishing the views of Cittamatra and Madhyamaka? If they are all Madhyamaka, since there is no difference, why are Svatantrika and Prasangika distinguished? If the ultimate of view is merely non-elaboration, then what is superior about Prasangika compared to Svatantrika? Therefore, the assertion that there is no view superior to Prasangika is also an old and preconceived notion. Therefore, the view that is superior to the Svatantrika-Prasangika is the view of the Sutra system, Vijnanavada, Madhyamaka, and the ultimate view of Tantra, Dzogchen. Although it is non-elaboration, it is because it accurately strikes the key point of the basis of non-elaboration. Therefore, those who hold that Vijnanavada is just mind-only, and those who think that there is no difference in the view of Dzogchen, still need to use the eye of wisdom, Avalokiteshvara, to examine the words of the Buddhas, the Sutras, Tantras, and Shastras, and then enter this good path! Although I am of little wisdom and ignorant, I have unwavering faith in the words of the Buddhas, and this conduct cannot be changed by others. I am a steadfast follower of the Dharma. Therefore, for those who share the same disposition as myself, these words are spoken for the sake of generating joy. Even if you understand the true nature of the unerring view, you should still strive on the path of practice for realization. The root of practice is the blessing of the Guru, and the way to enter is through devotion and striking the key point. That Guru who is most kind to you is superior to all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future, and all the Tantras unanimously proclaim this, and you should have firm faith in this. Until you attain complete realization, you can still generate the results of karma, so take and abandon cause and effect, but do not mistake the key points, and practice according to the Dharma as the Buddhas have said. Once you have gained warmth, it is wonderful to increase the generation and completion stages through the practice of mantra, but until then, in accordance with the Vinaya, it is wonderful to practice secret mantra secretly. In short, with the vows of Vajrayana...

The guru's supplication that establishes a firm foundation, The view of emptiness, other-emptiness, and supreme compassion, The activity of accumulating merit through union, Diligent effort is the path of all the Buddhas. Thus, in the Fire Rabbit year of the Rabjung (1987), In the north of Sikkim (འབྲས་ལྗོངས།), the supreme hidden land of Padma, At the solitary sacred mountain mantra place known as Drigung Tsham, On the auspicious twelfth day of the dark month, Spoken by Rigdzin Tsewang Norbu, Written by the monastic Kunzang Shenphen. May this lead all beings unerringly onto the Mahayana path, And become the cause for entering the path of goodness. The essence of practice, the heart advice, a clear paper roll is kept in the pocket. The profound solitary mountain dharma, at the lotus feet of the guru Vajrasattva, Constantly prostrating, the secret meaning of that, According to one's own understanding and experience, the key points of the instructions, Like a drop of heart's blood, I reveal here. A collection of countless individual teachings of the Victorious Ones, Like the method of realizing one's own awareness and becoming a Buddha, That supreme method is Maha Ati, the Great Perfection, Refined Great Perfection itself, how wondrous! The meaning of that is condensed into four: view, meditation, conduct, and result, The preliminary practice of cultivation, after being weary of samsara, With the thought of renunciation, generating refuge and bodhicitta, accumulating merit, Especially important is purifying obscurations through guru yoga. The main practice, after establishing the view on the basis of meditation, The essence of meditation is Trekchö, yes! The essence of Trekchö is Kadak Yeshe, The method of initially settling into practice is: The appearances of samsara, external and internal, subtle and gross, The movements of thoughts themselves, and the abiding of non-thought, The grasping and holding of mind itself, the conceptualizations of mind, Without doing any establishment, fabrication, negation, or affirmation, One's own obscuration of oneself, like gold obscured by tarnish, The clear water obscured by algae, The essence of self-awareness obscured by fleeting mind, The original nature obscured by the fabrication of grasping and holding. Emaho! Self-arisen, primordially pure, Great Perfection, Free from fleeting stains, the nature of the essence of self, This is beyond the realm of examples, illustrations, analysis, and words, It is not, it is, it is beyond extremes! The abiding of non-thought, the practice and the nature of that, Whatever impurity there is, let it abide as it is. The movements of thoughts, the negation and the continuation of that, Whatever conceptual thought there is, let it release on its own. The nature of thoughts, in the three times and timelessness, this.
