I have no need to be praised, I never care about the gains and losses of this life. I do not expect praise and fame, I abandon greed and attachment from the depths of my heart. I do not wish to deceive others by praising myself, I only wish to possess the state of not pursuing selfish desires. Due to the kindness of my father, the supreme master, I recognize this life as an illusion. I understand praise and fame as the echo in a valley, I recognize that the Dharma is impermanent, like a dream. I have seen the rootless Alaya consciousness, seen my own mind. Because I understand the truth of the infallibility of karma, There is no need to speak false worldly words. The words free from fabrication and slander are given by the Buddha. Therefore, this spontaneously flowing song, Is spoken to let some people abandon evil deeds. Before obtaining the five self-arisen wisdoms, Do not easily judge the good and evil of others. Please do not despise those who have deep inner practice, because of others' sweet words and beautiful appearances. People can say whatever they like about me, But such words cannot understand their meaning. Even though I don't have much displeasure, But if you slander those hidden yogis and tantric practitioners, That will be creating the karma of hell for yourself. Therefore, please do not be angry, accept this madman's nonsense. This was said by Lhatsun Tsewang Norbu of Kathok in Dokham on the 17th day of the eighth month of the Tibetan calendar to the people gathered there, when some people in Mangyul spread rumors in Kangqu Xiangba Namkha Dzong that I was not an ordinary person, but a god or a demon. "Hey Hey Phat!" Some verses arising from the view, sung as songs, are called "The Path of Clarifying One's Own Tradition."

Thus it appears. Matter designated as external objects, and, Consciousness designated as self-mind also, The ignorance of examining one and different is mistaken. One is also the nature of reality, two are also the nature of reality, That is also the nature of reality, not that is also the nature of reality, In the original nature, everything is equal, Without parts, all-pervading, variously pervasive. Because of the constant clinging to thoughts, minds, and mental events, The cause of permanence is exhausted, what is the meaning of impermanence? Essence unchanging, aspects all-encompassing, Other-empty Great Madhyamaka, this is wonderful! The apprehended and the apprehender, the totally imputed, are empty of their own nature, The consciousness, the other-powered, is ultimately empty of results, The perfectly established, the nature of reality, is empty of the extremes of elaboration, This way of emptiness is considered the ultimate definitive meaning. This way is not accommodated in the minds of those with rigid pride of speculation, And those who hold to the manner of great boasting. The three turnings of the wheel, the intentions gathered into one, The ultimate definitive meaning is the meaning of the final wheel. Self-knowing, self-illuminating, without foundation, without root, This is understood as such an ultimate. When that way is meditated upon with the common path, In this direction of the snowy land, it is known as Mahamudra. That meaning is the uncommon, profound essential point, The view is determined, repeated in meditation. Naked seeing, resting in itself, this essential fire spark, I say, this is Dzogchen Trekchö. Alas! Illusory friends, listen here, Why rely on this vague appearance? If you hold truth in the object, it is a mistaken mind, If you presume the non-object mind as real, it is a deluded thought. All examination of that meaning is a totally imputed mind, The mere imputation apart from that is consciousness, The difference between consciousness and wisdom is, Like medicine and poison, like clouds and sky, Like gold and verdigris, like mud and jewel. You must be skilled in distinguishing between consciousness and wisdom, In this snowy land, the supreme among the wise, Vimalamitra, possessing the four reliances, etc., And the self-born feet and the protector of liberation, etc., Do those with discernment understand this speech? That meaning is without error, the heart of the Victorious One's intention, Have you seen the definitive meaning sutras and tantras? Life is short, business and other activities, Even for a little bit, much thought is put in, But for the ultimate aspiration of lifetimes, the sacred Dharma, Why not examine the unerring entrance? The view of self is ignorant, seized by error
