When I stayed in the sacred place of Ritrak (Ri bKra) that year, in that summer, I met Katok Gyalsé Sonam Deutsen (Ka-thog rGyal sras bsod nams lde'u btsan) and received many empowerments, instructions, and oral transmissions, which became a special source of blessings. As autumn began, I requested permission from the abbot of the monastery, Jowo Rinpoche (gDan drung rJe dbon Rin po che), and went to a secluded place in Lhirong (lCi rong) to attend upon the lotus feet of Lama Kundu (bla ma kun 'dus), the embodiment of Vajradhara Great Bliss (rDo rje 'chang bde ba chen po). When returning from the monastery, I thought to myself that this time I must do a genuine practice, and especially to perfect both my own and others' benefit, I must have confidence in view, meditation, and realization. To demonstrate this depends on a qualified root guru. Such a root guru is very difficult to meet, even rarer than the Udumbara flower. Because the disciples' merit is shallow, it is also uncertain how long he will remain. At this time, I must diligently practice meditation day and night. Although I thought this way, when I returned to my own place, my determination to practice meditation with enough confidence in myself disappeared like a child playing with fire, and I was delayed because my merit was too shallow. There was no one else to urge me on how to practice meditation. Therefore, although I had the intention to do a genuine practice, I did not have the strength to actually carry it out, and I just thought about doing it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. In this way, I was distracted by meaningless fire pujas, scattering ashes, empowerments, and the meaningless offerings of demon flour, and one or two years passed by. In order to please the Buddhas, to be able to benefit sentient beings, and to perfect my own practice, I wanted to do something that would please the guru, but I did not succeed. Now I feel very regretful, even more regretful than ever before, and tears stream down my face, and I can only lament. Alas! Although I thought about practicing the Dharma meaningfully after obtaining the precious human rebirth, I was hindered by the blessing of the demons and delayed by time. My life was wasted, wandering aimlessly. Thinking of this, how can my heart not be agitated? Therefore, do not delay practice any longer, Even if the heavens and the earth turn upside down, put aside great matters and abandon small matters. Make your own decision and never be swayed by parents, relatives, or friends.

. Single-mindedly in solitude, to the essence of definitive meaning, without laziness, diligently strive in meditation and practice. The lifeblood of Dharma is the guru's samaya (藏文:དམ་ཚིག་,梵文天城体:समया,梵文罗马拟音:samaya,汉语字面意思:誓言), easier to lose one's own life, protect it without diminishing. Furthermore, to speak of the continuation of the topic, once the thought of such meditation and practice has arisen, whether one is old or young, one should generate pure intention and enter the ranks of practitioners, therefore, hold a firm conviction that there will be no change of mind from that, and even if external circumstances cause a mountain to collapse or the ocean to burst from below, erect one's pure intention like a pillar, and do not let it be influenced by parents, relatives, friends, or retinue, but spend one's life in practice. The intermediate is twelve years. The minimum is half a cycle, which is six years. At the very least, vow to adhere to a three-year retreat. Even if one is to die, one should be able to die in the retreat room. Even if one is sick, one should be able to be sick in the retreat room. Whatever mental agitation, suffering, or discomfort arises, one should take it as a path, divide the day and night into six sessions, and without any interruption, engage in the practice of the two stages, without losing even a moment to laziness. If one is nominally in retreat, but in reality is stretching, sleeping, and counting the rosary of thoughts in the room, then one is no different from those who sleep outside. One must firmly believe that there will be accomplishment after practice, and strive from a young age. Thus, merely generating the thought of practicing, demonic obstacles will begin to arise, and if one is determined not to practice, the obstacles will be even greater. These obstacles will disguise themselves as one's parents and other relatives to dissuade, and will also disguise themselves as close friends, sangha, benefactors, sentient beings, and even advise with an attitude of impartiality. Sometimes they will also disguise themselves as Khenpos, mentors, legal advisors, etc., to destroy the practice in various ways. For example, one is still young, there is plenty of time to practice later. Some will say that now is the beginning of taming beings and starting activities, it is more important to do these things for now, and it is not too late to practice later. Some will say with a heartbroken tone, "We advise you so sincerely, but you don't listen, alas!" Some will say, "If you must practice, we will wander or commit suicide!"
