Such as the methods of accumulation and cleansing, and the seemingly good things that appear in this world, which are actually heavy stones leading to the abyss of evil realms, such a rope of descent, whether it is the teacher or the listener, is deceived by the demon. It appears to be beneficial, but in reality, it throws people into the Avici hell, so it cannot be called good, but should be understood as the ultimate of evil. Therefore, temporary freedom from worries about food and clothing, and the offering of various wealth and pleasant words, are undoubtedly good help in the eyes of the world. However, from the ultimate point of view, this is nothing much. If someone asks, what kind of goodness is needed besides that? It is to teach others to achieve the perfect enlightenment for oneself and others. If so, then one should be content with just the coarse food that sustains life and the tattered clothes that barely keep out the cold. What is there to be attached to worldly wealth, which is like a dream? Therefore, from a young age, do not let the mind become unbelieving in the Dharma, but explain in detail the benefits and harms of cause and effect and vows, so that the mind is closely connected with the Dharma. Value the merits of learning, pay attention to the purity of the three trainings, and encourage diligent practice. In particular, no matter where one is, near or far, one should be introduced to a qualified guru, and repeatedly strive to persuade them in various ways to maintain the purity of their vows, and to realize the innate wisdom of co-emergence without obstruction, this is the true help, the ultimate of goodness. However, such teachers are rare. If such a teacher appears, whether it is a reincarnated lama or someone else, as long as they have the signs of clairvoyance and accomplishment, one should know how to be grateful and praise them. If one does not know how to cherish such kindness, it means that one does not have the merit, and one must understand this principle. Like this, for someone who has no worldly or Dharma help, just because they are recognized as a reincarnated lama and invited to the throne, to belittle, insult, suppress, and teach them badly, this will inevitably lead to a lack of faith and respect for one's own guru and lineage gurus, which will lead to the violation and breaking of vows. How is this so? For the person who is recognized as a reincarnated lama and invited to the throne, as long as they are devoted to the Dharma and have the altruistic intention to benefit Buddhism and sentient beings, then whether they are truly a reincarnated lama or not, one should not doubt.
