Therefore, if someone realizes the Dharmakaya with these five characteristics, then he is the realm of yogis, because only the Buddha can experience it. Similarly, if one wants to know how the Dharmakaya has five merits, then, as it is said in the scriptures: "Immeasurable, countless, inconceivable, incomparable, utterly pure." The reason why the first is immeasurable is also because of this: "Because of vastness and countlessness, because it is not the realm of speculation, because it only eliminates habitual tendencies, so in order are immeasurable, etc." Therefore, the Dharmakaya is of an immeasurable nature, because it has extremely many and vast merits, and is infinite. 1 Similarly, countless, because it has countless merits, it is free from the measurement of numbers. 2 It is also beyond the realm of thought, because it cannot be reached by speculative wisdom. 3 Furthermore, Dharmakaya, you have such a Dharma nature: you cannot be compared to anything, because you are the merit of the only Buddha. 4 Furthermore, it has such a Dharma nature: you are the ultimate of purity, because you have eliminated the two obscurations and their habitual tendencies. 5 Like this, the Dharmakaya with five characteristics and five merits, and the Buddha Jewel with two meanings and eight merits mentioned above, are actually considered to be the same. What is said by combining the meaning of the Prajnaparamita and the Uttaratantra is to regard it as the Buddha Jewel that is not common to other vehicles. The Dharma Jewel is: as the Uttaratantra says: "Inconceivable, non-dual, non-discriminating, pure, clear, the quality of antidote, by what, by whom is free from attachment, having the characteristics of the two truths, that is the Dharma." Thus, it is said that cessation and path have eight merits, and it must also be established as the unpolluted merits included in either cessation or path. The merits of cessation are: inconceivable, non-dual, non-discriminating, thus the three are declared. The merits of the path are: pure, clear, antidote, thus the two are divided into six, if the basis of division of the two is included, then there are eight. That is the merit of the truth of cessation.
