How are the statements about conceptualization and the statement "like eye illusion" in the Ratnavali explained? (4) Answer: I don't know clearly what this question is addressed to. However, in the Ratnavali, it says "like eye illusion," and in the Madhyamakalankara, it says: In the same way, in the case of a firebrand, the appearance of perceiving it as a wheel arises simultaneously. Because it appears very clearly, it is not connected by sight. It is said that because it appears very clearly to the wisdom without conceptualization, it is directly seen, but there is no mention of mental conceptualization at all. Question 5: What are the unique views that distinguish the later and earlier logicians? (5) Answer: The earlier period of logic was when Phya-ba Chos-kyi Senge and his eight great lion disciples appeared. The later period of logic can be considered to have begun when Jamgon Sakya Pandita appeared and composed the Treatise on the Treasury of Reasoning. In general, the differences in unique views are endless, and I cannot explain them all, nor is it easy to express them. In general, Kunken Mipham Rinpoche, in any text such as logic, primarily emphasized the reasoning of the power of objects and never adopted the form of repeating other systems. Therefore, in this cool land, Chos Seng and others, with their sharp reasoning, engage in deceptive dances, leading new students into confusion. Now even the old scholars who give teachings mix good texts with repetitive words. Even if such speakers who boast of being wise are pleased, we will not follow them like an echo in a cliff. Considering what he said, I think that our own system does not necessarily have to follow the earlier ones completely, but rather should mainly grasp the valid aspects of correct reasoning. Five questions about Abhidharma: Question 1: If the way to destroy the two darknesses is to abandon them by way of obtaining cessation, will they be reborn? If they are not reborn, then isn't it the nature of an Arhat who has degenerated to be reborn? (1) Answer: Here, your thought is that if any lower defilements arise in the continuum of such an Arhat and they degenerate, then if they are abandoned by way of obtaining cessation, they will be reborn, is that the doubt you have raised? This has been explained in the Abhidharma.

This is a very good way of reasoning. Although I don't know how to explain this meaning clearly, I can provide some preliminary directions for consideration. For example, just as an excellent wrestler, even if he loses his balance slightly, does not fall to the ground but immediately recovers, I wonder if it means that by abandoning in the manner of losing the gain, it will never arise again in that person's mindstream? Q: 2) Since it is said to arise from the elements of one who has already taken the Pratimoksha vows, and it is also said to arise from not having taken the vows of dhyana and the uncontaminated, how is this so? Ans: 2) Generally, in this case, it is said to arise from the elements of one who has already taken the Pratimoksha vows, as you have already understood. And it is said to arise from not having taken the vows of dhyana and the uncontaminated, because if one manifests something like the actual mind of dhyana and accomplishes superknowledges such as the divine eye through the door of mental engagement, then it is said that in the vicinity or around the eyes, very clear fine particles gathered by the fire of dhyana arise. I wonder if it is permissible to say that it arises from not having taken the vows in that way. Q: 3) Why do the Vaibhashikas not make three classifications of superior Dharma (chos mchog) as great, medium, and small? Ans: 3) This is according to the oral tradition of the predecessors. I think they said that here, it mainly depends on whether or not one acts for the benefit of others. This is because, if the superior Dharma is called "immediate wisdom," then it can immediately draw in the uncontaminated anew by its own power, so they did not make distinctions for those who only pursue it. I wonder if classifying the superior Dharma from the perspective of mainly accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings is its meaning? Q: 4) How is there no contradiction between the way the Samgraha (kun btus) and the Kosha (mdzod) establish the Truth of the Path? Ans: 4) Generally, in the case of the Abhidharma-samuccaya, it speaks of the three uncontaminated roots, the first of which is established from the path of preparation, and it can be either contaminated or uncontaminated. And in the Abhidharma-kosha, if it is said to be the three uncontaminated roots, then it is necessarily uncontaminated. There are many different views between the upper and lower Abhidharma, and I don't know if it is necessary to reconcile all of these views one by one, but in this case, both the upper and lower Abhidharma
