It is the great monastery, the adornment of the ancient Nyingma teachings, the great monastic college of the lunar lineage, the Decisive Meaning Teaching and Practice Flourishing Continent, whose fame spreads throughout the three regions of the snowy land and even to the sacred land of India and the entire vast world, arising from the immeasurable magical display of wisdom, compassion, and power of the venerable and precious Lama, the master of the five sciences. It is the sacred object of offering for all beings, including gods. Now, let us describe in order where this monastery is located, when it was founded, and in what year the venerable one (the master) established it. Regarding its location: it is situated in the center of the earth held by the three corners, north of Magadha, within the six ranges and four rivers of Do Kham in Tibet, on the banks of the majestic and long river, the Nu River, which flows slowly. This region in northern Kham, known as Dzachukha (Sershul), is praised as the high plateau of the vast world, unpolluted by environmental contamination. The beings in this region enjoy the essence of pure air, making their bodies and minds clearer than others.
