Therefore, at that time, it was only known from the truthful words of those who were familiar with the matter. As for which student studied which scripture in which year and at what time, it is impossible to record it clearly. To speak a little about how the practice lineage's teachings were upheld: Sometimes, when I went out at midnight or late at night for some important matters, I never encountered him lying down to rest or having taken off his robes. Therefore, people said, "Is he never in his room?" From this, it can be seen that he diligently engaged in study and contemplation day and night. As for which yidam he practiced the recitation and sadhana of, it is impossible to know, because I don't know what his usual practice was, so I will just say this much for now. Especially at that turning point in time, he and his uncle and nephews, Khenpo Sonam Tshe, Gelong Asher, Zhi Phuk, and others, vowed to enter summer retreat from the sixteenth day of the month of ripening grain (Tibetan fifth month). Every day at dawn, they would carry the three Dharma robes on their shoulders, and after continuously reciting the "Three Heaps Sutra," they would also give Dharma teachings on the three vows, and at the end of one and a half months, they would completely hold a feast gathering. Khenpo Sonam Tshe said, "Even at that time, the summer retreat was never interrupted." I heard about this later. In this way, in that most terrible time, most practitioners were carried away by the flood, and those who were slightly better were just trying to maintain their practice and striving to prepare for their death. Not to mention reading and teaching the scriptures of the Kangyur and Tengyur to others, and practicing the foundation of the three vows. Even those who could explain the preliminary practices to others were rare. Some would wrap the clapper of a bell with cotton in remote families or houses in villages, and secretly recite some rituals, but if others heard it, they would suffer a lot. However, this lord, in the area of Dzagyuk, the playground of countless wise and accomplished masters, even at that time, was able to maintain and propagate the essence of the teachings without allowing them to decline. Thinking about his actions, there is no liberation biography more amazing than this, and it is even difficult to find one equal to it. In the depths of the thick earth of the degenerate age, The source of the first precious element of the virtues of the holy ones.

The splendor of upholding and spreading the Buddha's teachings, Unfaded and radiant, this wonderful story is amazing. Wherever the fourfold assembly gathers, Wherever the three grounds of complete training are practiced. With excellent deeds of unparalleled practice, The supreme one proclaims the truth that the teachings abide. The essence of the Buddha's teachings, both scriptural and realized, The waves of nectar from the excellent deeds of explanation and practice. The irreversible, unbroken stream swirling in the high sky, It is amazing to revive it in the time of ultimate decline. Thus, from the great turmoil of the fifty-ninth year of the twenty-ninth year of age to the eightieth year, for twenty-one years, no matter what bad circumstances were encountered, just as the good gold itself was burned, cut, and polished, so much so that the gold's true nature shone with radiance. Therefore, the great qualities of the holy one became the cause of manifestation. Undoubtedly, there are still many more extremely wonderful biographies. However, for those who are honest, truthful, and possess the three wisdoms, I have recorded only so much of the pure truth that I have heard through inquiry. The unbearable storm of the time's turmoil, The pure waves of the stainless discipline, Continuously generating pure white foam like a conch shell, Became an ornament of wonderful, pure conduct. Though the expanse of mind is as vast and clear as the sky, The nectar rays of unerringly adopting and abandoning actions and their consequences, Unveiled by the thick clouds of the five degenerations, The youthfulness of the spiritual friend's moon shines even brighter. Alas, how fierce is the fire of the times, Yet how did the supreme holy one endure? The light of good gold shines unclouded, Only one or two among hundreds of thousands of Dharma practitioners. Especially, the uncommon qualities not possessed by ordinary upholders of the teachings, With unparalleled courage and strong power, Able to bear the great burden of the scriptural and realized Buddha's teachings on this earth, Who has created such deeds in this age? Now, as the appearance of the flourishing teachings dawns as the glory of beings, I will briefly describe how the all-seeing supreme one, when the aspiration of his past prayers ripens, initiated the establishment of the Buddha's teachings in Shemong. That is, the great sage, the Accomplisher of All Purposes, is located in the center of the southern continent, in the sacred place of Lumbini in the great land of Central India.
