He always concealed his greatness in every way, and even when walking on the road, he would act like a good helper, helping with tasks such as lighting fires and fetching water, without ever assuming a superior attitude. Moreover, he would not order his nephews around, but always maintained the state of an ordinary monk. Therefore, ordinary people considered him to be a kind, gentle, and well-mannered monk, and no one regarded him as a Khenpo or a great Lama. However, the virtues of the saint were proclaimed by the saint, and thus his good name spread far and wide. Furthermore, although his uncle had obtained the position of Khenpo of Sherab Phuk Monastery, he did not wear the hat, because he had never engaged in fundraising or other such activities before, but had lived the life of an Acho practitioner, and was therefore impoverished. Later, no matter how many large and small offerings and objects of refuge were offered to both of them, especially to Khenpo Sherab, by both their own and other monasteries, Khenpo Rinpoche would not accept them. It is said that if he were to accept all the offerings, he could indulge in extravagance. As Gewon Tenzin Norbu said in his last words, "I have accumulated a lot of wealth in the past and enjoyed a lot, so according to worldly standards, I could indulge in extravagance. But that is not in accordance with the conduct of a follower of Shakyamuni, and it is also a great sin." Therefore, as a follower of Shakyamuni, the great elder abides in liberation, does not open the door to receiving objects of faith, offerings, and other sensual pleasures, but is content with few desires and contentment. He always has little involvement in worldly affairs and has more time for study and practice, so his conduct conforms to the norms of extensive learning and discipline. In this time of decline of Buddhism, such a great deed of guiding the beings of the degenerate age can only be accomplished by the maturation of aspiration and intention, and no one else can do it. Similarly, later, when the Lord himself went to many countries at home and abroad and returned to the monastery again, on one occasion, he recited prayers for those who were related to him to the assemblies of other monasteries.

Because it was necessary to send a petition, the attendant was instructed to write a presentation letter. When it was written, "Obstacles to domestic and foreign relations," Your Holiness said, "It would be better to write 'Situations where there are obstacles.'" He said, "It seems to be over." Similarly, once, some monastery administrators from the Golok (present-day Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province) area requested Khen Rinpoche, "We want to eradicate the evil custom of blood sacrifice, please issue a strict order to all monasteries." When the attendant was about to write on monastic paper, you said, "Bring a plain piece of paper without patterns, this paper looks too solemn and is not needed." Then you dictated, "The eradication of the tradition of blood sacrifice is what both old and young hope for, and I greatly approve of doing so." and so on. Just write that. It was not at all like an official document, not even a little bit of embellishment.

Because I am not familiar with the local situation, I am not very good at speaking beautiful words. However, I can slightly tell some unadorned truths, as well as some very wonderful stories, and some biographies of saints that sound convincing. It is said like this: There was a pottery pot in the small wooden fence of their residence. Usually, leftover food and grains were poured into it, and blessed substances such as nectar pills were added to give alms to the birds. Sometimes when it didn't rain and the weather was hot, dry water was placed in the pottery pot, so it is said that the doors inside and outside the abbot's residence were covered with bird droppings. Such an act of caring for beings in the lower realms with the compassion of a great Bodhisattva is something that we should also keep in mind. Later, every morning, when the lines on the hand were about to become clear, the birds sleeping in the monastic dormitories and assembly halls would gather on time at the door of Je Tsongkhapa's residence. The old and new offerings of the mandala were changed, and while reciting the dharani of Akshobhya (Tibetan: མི་འཁྲུགས་པའི་གཟུངས་, Devanagari: अचलन ाथधारणी, Romanized Sanskrit: acalanāthadhāraṇī, Literal Chinese meaning: Akshobhya Dharani), he would give alms. It is said that the birds were neither afraid nor timid, and gathered near his body, which was often seen. Similarly, the two of them only ate oily food at noon and did not eat in the afternoon. He said, "Aba, our family has a very serious headache, and we cannot eat oily food in the afternoon." At that time, I didn't understand, but later I heard that the Khenpo who opened the Buddhist academy also only ate lunch, and then I realized that they also only ate lunch at that time. Also, when I made a bed and offered it to him, he said, "If the four legs of this bed are not cut off, it will not be convenient to get on and off the bed." Later, I learned that monks should not sleep on high beds. Also, once, some people wearing hats and some high-ranking single people, as well as Je Tsongkhapa, were summoned to the government's house, and the leader scolded them a lot. Khenpo Rinpoche always wore old clothes, but that day he changed into new clothes.
