When someone offered fur robes and other items for refuge and blessings, Khen Rinpoche said, "Akuk has clothes to wear this year," but did not accept them. The master himself wore a rough fur robe with thin sleeves in both summer and winter. Everyone said that Khen Sher and his uncle only had one set of clothes to wear in both summer and winter, so it was impossible to wear them in the hot summer. Similarly, their food consisted of only one milking yak, and it was said that the small amount offered by relatives was just enough to provide for their lunch. Therefore, they had no savings other than food, clothing, and utensils to barely satisfy their hunger and protect them from the cold. Moreover, their objects of refuge, the Three Jewels, consisted of only a few scriptures, which they kept at Khen Sode's place. In a room that met the standards described in the Vinaya, they blessed and resided with the items appropriate for a monk. Furthermore, regarding how they performed their daily sessions and continuous practice, in general, they preferred secrecy, so the exact details are not known. However, to increase the faith of those who met them, I will briefly record a few things I witnessed: The uncle and nephew would drink early morning tea and set up offerings on a small wooden board on top of which there was a small amount of food. The offerings consisted of a small wooden board, a butter lamp, a mandala plate, and a set of seven offering bowls. Then, they would spend most of the morning going to Khen Sotsé's place to study scriptures. Sometimes, if the two of them were too engrossed in the books, Akuk would say, "The tea is brewing late," and then rush back. When he went to dispose of the ashes, he would recite the "Samantabhadra's Prayer of Good Conduct" as he walked. It is said that except when reciting the "Manjushri Namasamgiti," he would always be holding his rosary, even when grinding barley. After lunch, they would remove the offerings, which was an unchanging habit every day. It is said that he never suffered from colds or other illnesses throughout his life, which is proof of this. Sometimes, when there was no travel, he would sit upright on his bed, without leaning to the left or right, or against the back. Moreover, his bed was also very low.

It is said that it was not a long sleeping couch. At night, he said that he preferred no white light because his eyes were bad, so he did not encourage offering butter lamps. In this way, day by day, he made offerings and accumulated merit, and through extensive reading and observation, he made final decisions. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to practice and realization throughout the night, so that the essence of the precious teachings of scripture and realization was maintained and promoted without any deterioration. This is the great deed of the venerable one, like a string of wish-fulfilling jewels of wonderful stories, and is the most extraordinary example of conduct. Dwelling, utensils, medicine, and other daily necessities, The basis of permission and prohibition from the ocean of Dharma and Vinaya, With the virtuous conduct of properly taking and abandoning, In the time of darkness, ignite the lamp of pure discipline. Whatever person is busy and impoverished, Without turning into a sinful deed, Without hesitating to take on hardship, he helped and supported them, The biography of Dromtönpa is recorded here. The profound meaning of the ocean of scriptures and treatises, The yogi who combines study and contemplation, The virtuous golden mine of the Kadampa tradition, You have unearthed from the midst of the degenerate age. Not the finest delicacies, but whatever is available to eat, Even a tattered robe of coarse cloth, He who can sustain himself for many years, He maintained the conduct of Chennga Kosham. Similarly, adorning oneself with the complete virtues of human customs. As mentioned above, just as one teaches others that the root of human customs lies in maintaining a stable lineage or not losing oneself. The nature of the body, speech, and mind of the venerable one is majestic, dignified, and very stable. That is to say, for those who are ignorant of the Dharma and worldly laws, even the deeds of the Buddha will be viewed incorrectly. Such inferior people are doomed. Apart from that, when wise people see the venerable one, they will be involuntarily attracted. Your incomparable holy body always maintains the precepts of inner and outer tantra, and the stability and adherence to human customs make your body majestic and no one can despise it. The secret of speech is also like the greatness of the speech of the Buddha, the great sage, benefiting the beings of the world.
