In the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: If others perform inferior deeds, how can oneself remain? According to the oral tradition of the virtuous friend Pal Ge Rinpoche, relying on all the qualities of the virtuous friend, in the Nectar Drops of the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra Commentary, it says: If others perform inferior deeds such as pulling grass, cutting trees, carrying burdens, etc., how can oneself remain in comfort? One should not remain, but should help them perform those inferior deeds that do not generate sin. For example, Dromtönpa himself carried the burden of an old mantra practitioner, and the Indian saint carried the burden of a yellow-bearded Acharya. As it is said, the lord of compassion, the Bodhisattva, performed amazing deeds. Similarly, at that time, there was an old man who was the material manager of the cooperative. He did not know arithmetic or writing. Therefore, whether it was the delivery or receipt of materials, everyone near the village could hear him calling out to Khen Rinpoche to help with the calculations and writing. Khen Rinpoche never considered whether he was free or not, nor did he fear hardship, but always happily and lovingly gave his help. Moreover, no matter who asked him to do something, even a small child's request, this Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, with an extremely peaceful mind, always fulfilled everyone's wishes, never becoming angry, and never acting with partiality towards those who were close or distant. Therefore, he was loved by everyone. The venerable one did not even need to adjust his monastic robes slightly, and anyone, high or low, could remain without malice or slander towards him. The worldly people said that he had a good heart and a good character. Some who did not know him well said that he was weak. Similarly, near the venerable one's residence, there was a woman named Aunt Sangdrön, whose mill was very good. When others asked him to help grind flour for the uncle and nephew, he said, "I'm old, my hands hurt, I don't need to." Then he would personally help with the work himself. Like this, the great Bodhisattvas always.

Furthermore, instead of employing others as slaves, they personally served the inferior beings. Wise people should contemplate these acts of liberation well. Similarly, the former teacher and disciple were content with living in a simple stone house that could only accommodate a small stove, and they had no intention of building a residence at all. Later, one of his brothers built a mud house that could only provide shelter from the wind and rain and offered it to him, and he stayed there for more than twenty years. Later, when he was about to open the door to the Dharma, relatives requested that the residence be expanded and made more exquisite, but he did not agree, and only stayed in that simple residence. Sometimes, he would not visit or stay even for one night with relatives and friends from his own village or other villages, and he always went to fetch water, dispose of ashes, and go to the toilet himself, even on the way to these places, and in the pleasant weather of spring and summer, he was never seen sitting leisurely on the grass, talking to people passing by, or basking in the sun. It is said that he always spent his days and nights constantly studying, contemplating, and practicing. Later, when Khen Sherab passed away, the only provisions for offering to the remains were two cans of butter weighing five or six catties each, and a dozen or so pieces of dried cheese, which the teacher and disciple had accumulated from the milk of a single milking female yak. Apart from that, there were no other valuable items such as cushions, zen skirts, Dharma instruments, horses, mules, tea, silver, etc., so the relatives made offerings to the remains. Similarly, he never accepted offerings such as refuge objects, dedications, and prayers that others insisted on offering, but only symbolically accepted one or two coins or items. If someone asked him to attend funerals or other events in the village, he would say, "I can't get tea, I'll just recite a few mani mantras." Therefore, he never accepted offerings and never begged for alms. Moreover, the teacher and disciple never accumulated meat, butter, barley, cheese, or any items such as coarse cloth or fine cloth, nor did they hoard them, nor did they borrow from others. In addition, others sent
