It is not by nature, but by the way of acting on objects. The two obscurations have their own tenets. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "Whatever discriminations there are, such as stinginess, are considered the obscuration of afflictions. Whatever discriminations there are of the three spheres are considered the obscuration of knowledge." Therefore, afflictions such as desire are the obscuration of afflictions, and clinging to the three spheres as real is considered the obscuration of knowledge. The new school holds that the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge are of the same essence, that is, they consider the clinging to reality as the obscuration of afflictions. In this way, the obscuration of afflictions becomes more and more subtle and becomes the obscuration of knowledge, and the obscuration of knowledge becomes more and more subtle and becomes the obscuration of habitual tendencies. For example, like musk and the fragrance attached to its container, and the fragrance becoming fainter and fainter. Now, distinguishing from the aspect of essence, there are two types of Bodhicitta: conventional Bodhicitta and ultimate Bodhicitta. As it is said: "By the distinction of conventional and ultimate, Bodhicitta is of two types." Therefore, conventional Bodhicitta is generated and gathered on the wisdom of conceptual thought. Ultimate Bodhicitta is the wisdom in which the movement of conceptual thought dissolves into the sphere of reality, which is ultimate Bodhicitta. Conventional Bodhicitta has two types: aspirational Bodhicitta and engaging Bodhicitta. First, vowing to attain the result is aspirational Bodhicitta, and the thought of wanting to practice the six perfections in order to attain the result, this thought of vowing to practice the cause or method, is engaging Bodhicitta. It is said that it is necessary to seize it with the second hook of the vow. This must be generated by relying on rituals. In the view of Secret Mantra, it is said that ultimate Bodhicitta is generated by relying on rituals, but this is only using intention as the path, not as a characteristic. Bodhicitta as a characteristic must be generated by the power of meditation relying on the three supremes. The three supremes are: As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "The perfect Buddha is greatly pleased, the accumulations of merit and wisdom are greatly gathered, the non-conceptual wisdom towards the Dharma, for the sake of arising, that is considered supreme." Therefore, the supreme reliance has two aspects, outer and inner. The outer is from the path of accumulation to the path of seeing, making the guru and many perfect Buddhas extremely pleased and not making them weary. The inner supreme reliance is compassion and wisdom, etc.

Completely grasped by the two mothers, and the subsequent attainment of the holy ones accumulating merit, etc., accumulating both the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of non-manifest wisdom. The realization of the holy ones is the arising of non-conceptual wisdom at its end, and the seeing of the wisdom of the path of seeing. This must arise from the power of meditating on the characteristics, thus it must arise relying on the completely grasping holy one, the subsequent attainment of the holy one, and the realization of the holy one, these three. Conventional Bodhicitta must arise relying on the ritual. Among them, whether it is Madhyamaka and Cittamatra, or the profound view and the vast conduct view, there are the preliminary practices, the actual commitment, and the concluding practice of cultivating joy for oneself and others, these three. First, in the preliminary practices, there is the accumulation of merit, the training of the mind, and on top of that, according to the intention of Shantideva, the abandonment of the three bases of complete grasping. Among them, the Madhyamaka school believes that it arises from the accumulation of merit, and the Cittamatra school believes that it arises from the purification of the mind. That is, accumulating merit through the seven-limb practice, and then training the mind in the four immeasurables. Then, abandoning the three bases of complete grasping, which is the cutting off of attachment to the three bases of complete grasping, therefore it is also the practice of cutting the object. Here, it is both the training of the mind and the two that are taught. Second, in the actual practice, at the beginning before the invocation, like the sky pervades, sentient beings pervade, etc., starting from recognizing the mother, remembering kindness, wanting to repay kindness, cultivating with compassion focusing on sentient beings and wisdom focusing on perfect enlightenment, both complete. Again, in short, in order for all sentient beings to be separated from the two causes and effects of suffering, and to obtain the precious state of perfect Buddhahood, I aspire to generate the supreme Bodhicitta. In terms of entering the mind, also thinking of studying the six perfections with one's own ability, then to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas abiding in the ten directions, and the great Vajradhara masters, these three, first going through the three invocations, then taking refuge with the three special doors, until the heart of enlightenment, etc., as the basis for taking refuge in the Three Jewels.
