There are two types of vows related to the ground. The Pratimoksha vow can be included upwards, but it doesn't necessarily have to be included downwards in the mantra vow. A person who has obtained the three vows must restrain from all misdeeds of the three, Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, and Mantra vows. To summarize, abandoning actions that harm others as their basis is the Pratimoksha vow. Accomplishing actions that benefit others as their basis is the Bodhisattva vow. Knowing the three doors of body, speech, and mind as the nature of the three vajras is the mantra vow. Therefore, actions such as beating with the body, harsh words with speech, and harmful thoughts with the mind, etc. In short, abandoning even the slightest harmful actions of body, speech, and mind is the vow of restraining misdeeds. The essence of accumulating merit and dharma is that, although it involves studying the six perfections, for a beginner, striving with body, speech, and mind to perform even the slightest virtuous deeds is accumulating merit and dharma. When seeing images of the Buddha, stupas, etc., removing one's hat, etc.; gestures of respect with the body, such as folding hands; confessions of downfalls with speech; and moments of virtuous thoughts with the mind, etc., all efforts to engage in virtuous actions are the discipline of accumulating merit and dharma. Benefiting sentient beings means that when one sees the truth of reality on the path of seeing, one gathers disciples through the four means of gathering and places them on the path of maturation and liberation. If we were to place all of this on a single louse, first, catching a louse, and then thinking, "In order for all sentient beings, as infinite as the extent of space, to attain the state of Buddhahood, I will not kill this louse," this is the discipline of restraining misdeeds. Saving a life by not killing is the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. Dedicating the merit of that to others is the discipline of accumulating merit and dharma. In short, abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions to the best of one's ability, accomplishing all beneficial actions as their basis, and knowing the three doors as the three vajras are all included within this. In all post-meditation activities, if there is even a single non-virtuous action of body, speech, or mind, abandon it. Accomplish even a single virtuous action. All of this is held by the three jewels. Generate the definite understanding that appearances are without inherent existence. The nature of patience is not being disturbed. Being disturbed means that it arises on the basis of mental factors and consciousness. Anger is when reactions appear in the body and speech. In worldly language, it is said, "Accumulating merit for a thousand eons, a single moment of anger destroys it." As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, "The merit accumulated for a thousand eons, etc. What burns it? Anger burns it. What does it burn?

It is a root of virtue that is in accordance with merit. The root of virtue that possesses the three supreme qualities is called irreversible. Worldly roots of virtue are said to be lost even if one gets angry at a tiny thing. If Hearers and Solitary Realizers, who are roots of virtue in accordance with the Lesser Vehicle's liberation, get angry with each other, the root of virtue is lost. If one gets angry with an ordinary person, it is not lost, but one will fall into degradation. If a Bodhisattva gets angry with a Hearer or Solitary Realizer, the root of virtue is only diminished and cannot be completely lost, just as an ax cannot cut iron. If a Bodhisattva gets angry with another Bodhisattva, just as iron can cut iron, all roots of virtue will be destroyed. If a Bodhisattva on the Path of Accumulation gets angry with someone who has attained a ground, all roots of virtue will be completely lost without exception, so one must generate Bodhicitta again from the beginning of the Path of Accumulation. Therefore, there is no sin like hatred. If it is lost, the roots of virtue of generosity and discipline, even if accumulated for a thousand eons, will be destroyed. The Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds says that all the roots of virtue of generosity and discipline accumulated for a hundred eons will be lost. Bodhicitta is a supreme object, and it needs to be constantly remembered. For example, just as fire and water cannot be put in the same container, if there is hatred, there is no Bodhicitta, and if there is Bodhicitta, there is no hatred. Therefore, the ultimate result of hatred is to go to hell, and the ultimate result of patience is to attain Buddhahood. Therefore, one must understand the benefits of patience and the faults of hatred and cultivate patience. There is no asceticism more difficult than patience. Etc., patience is the most supreme of all asceticisms. To cultivate patience, one must first extinguish hatred. When one encounters unpleasant things, one must cultivate patience through various methods. During breaks between sessions, one must cultivate the various divisions. Others, etc., Dharma, etc., profound meanings, etc. The boundary for cultivating patience is when one encounters unpleasant things. The fourth is diligence. It is divided into two: essence and divisions. The essence is: Diligence is delight in virtue. It means that delight in virtue, that is, delight in worldly affairs and non-virtuous things, is all laziness, so it is delight in virtue. Delight means body and speech.
