Taking all the suffering upon myself, may this headache of mine serve to experience the suffering of all sentient beings. May sickness replace the sickness of sentient beings, may heat replace the heat of sentient beings, may death replace the death of sentient beings. When the fruition of suffering and the thoughts of the three poisons of attachment, hatred, and ignorance arise, seize them with bodhichitta and put them into practice. First, recall and evoke the thoughts of attachment, etc., in your own mindstream, and then may all the causes of suffering, such as non-virtuous actions arising from the non-virtuous thoughts of desire, hatred, ignorance, etc., in the minds of all sentient beings, be replaced by my thoughts of attachment, etc. May the thoughts of desire of all sentient beings ripen in me. May the thoughts of hatred, ignorance, etc., be replaced by my thoughts and ripen in my mindstream. May all sentient beings be separated from the fruition of suffering and the causes of attachment, hatred, ignorance, etc., and may all of that ripen in me. In this way, cut off the cause and effect of suffering for those sentient beings, and may sickness replace sickness, heat replace heat, death replace death, suffering replace suffering, and thus take it upon your own mindstream. Furthermore, bodhisattvas, the extent of their connection is meaningful; a good connection leads to enlightenment in one lifetime, while a bad connection leads to endless samsara. Therefore, on top of the previous giving and taking, in order for all sentient beings to obtain the resources for happiness and the conditions for eliminating suffering, one must give away the three things that one cherishes. That is, first, all my previous bodies have been wasted meaninglessly. Now, from this day forward, I will ultimately attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. In the meantime, from the greatest Brahma and Indra to the smallest ants and maggots, whatever high or low bodies I have taken, may those sentient beings who are connected with good faith and pure appearance, and those who are connected with evil attachment, hatred, and ignorance, the forms seen by the eyes, the sounds heard by the ears, even the smell of rotting corpses smelled by the nose, the touch of the body, and the thoughts in the mind, may all of these pacify the sickness of the sick, pacify the possession of the possessed, pacify the diseases of the body, pacify the suffering of the mind, pacify the

In short, may all the sufferings of the three realms of existence in samsara be pacified. Furthermore, may the cause of suffering, afflictions such as attachment, hatred, and ignorance, and all the non-virtuous actions arising from them, be pacified. In short, I pray to be able to separate from both the cause and effect of suffering. Furthermore, may the fruit of happiness arise in the continuum of my own body, all seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching, from the happiness of gods and humans in higher realms to the happiness of complete and perfect Buddhahood. I pray that its cause, the three jewels of faith, renunciation, and the precious mind of enlightenment, may arise. Then, regarding enjoyment, the enjoyments of the past have been exhausted and become meaningless. Starting from today, from the lowest rags of a beggar to the ultimate enjoyment of the treasury of space, may all enjoyments, great and small, be connected with good faith and pure appearance; may the cause and effect of suffering, such as seeing and hearing, in the realm of the six senses, whether connected with the three poisons of attachment, hatred, and ignorance, or with good or bad connections, be pacified. May the disease of the sick be pacified, may the harm of the possessed be pacified, may the illness of the body be pacified, may the suffering of the mind and the obstacles of thought be pacified. May the cause of suffering, the thoughts of the three poisons of attachment, hatred, and ignorance, be pacified. May the fruit of happiness, from higher realms to Buddhahood, be attained. May the three jewels of faith, renunciation, and the precious mind of enlightenment arise in the continuum. I pray that all enjoyments become liberation upon seeing, liberation upon hearing, and liberation upon touching. To accomplish this, may the truth of the Three Jewels be proven. Similarly, for all the roots of virtue accumulated in the three times, it is the same. Starting from the smallest virtue that is in harmony with merit, up to the ultimate, omniscient, uncontaminated, ocean-like virtue, may all those roots of virtue be connected with good faith and pure appearance; may all things that become the objects of the six senses of sentient beings, connected with the three poisons of attachment, hatred, and ignorance, generate meaningful wishes for all those connected, just as before. May the truth of the Three Jewels be proven. These are all for the exchange of self and others. Now, to cultivate cherishing others more than oneself, may the exchange of self and others become habitual and proficient from the depths of the mind. This is the practice that combines with action.
