It is the body of the nature of mind. Actions without outflows. Without subduing the subtle four maras, such as inconceivable death. Bodhisattvas must subdue all gross and subtle four maras. Even the Vidyadharas who have entered the mantra path must also cut off all the gross and subtle four maras. However, the methods of subduing them by the two are very different. Among them, the first is to cut off self-grasping through skillful means. From beginningless time, grasping at self has generated all the suffering up to now. If this is not abandoned, it will continue to cause harm until the end. Therefore, one should understand the faults of grasping at self. The precious Bodhicitta can obtain the temporary heavenly realms, the qualities of the Bodhisattva grounds, and ultimately all the qualities of attaining the state of omniscience. Having understood the faults and qualities in this way, one should cultivate the four immeasurables that give rise to the precious Bodhicitta, and cultivate the Bodhicitta of exchanging self and others. Until the attachment to self-interest is completely cut off from the root, one should cultivate, regarding all sentient beings as mothers and oneself as children, and regarding the basis of fully enjoying the temporary and ultimate happiness of all sentient beings as the body. Likewise, all the wealth and virtuous things accumulated in the three times are completely given away. In this way, if the clinging to the three bases of complete enjoyment is cut off, then there is no other basis for grasping at self. Having trained the mind in this way, if the demon of cherishing self is cut off, it is called cutting off. There is no need to throw the hand drum, no need to shake the bell, no need to blow the thigh-bone trumpet, no need to have matted hair on the head, no need to hold a skull cup in the hand. This self-grasping that arises with pride while sleeping is called the best cutter, the lazy one, who uses the precious Bodhicitta to drive away the object and then follows it. If it is not like that, without even a slight idea of cutting off the demon of pride that arises in sleep, appearances arise as ghosts and demons, and one assumes that the object to be cut off is outside. One makes a "Phat" sound, glares angrily, blows the thigh-bone trumpet, shakes the hand drum, disturbs people's minds, barks like a dog, and fights with gods and demons. This is called the worst cutter, barking like a dog.
