Each must seize the second iron hook of the vows. In this way, for those things you can protect, make a vow not to do them; and for those you cannot, think, 'These and those, I will protect as much as I can, please, Lama Vajrasattva, bless my being to be completely purified.' In this way, each time you make a vow, your being becomes more and more purified. If it is not like that, and you just vaguely say, 'In the future, I will also cut off and guard,' just saying that will not accomplish anything. The power of the remedy of conduct is all the virtue that acts as a remedy for non-virtue, but here it refers to the visualizations of raining down nectar for purification. During the recitation for the benefit of oneself, the Dharmakaya, generate special faith in the objects above. Then, radiate light. During the recitation for the benefit of others, the Rupakaya, cultivate love, gratitude, and remembrance of kindness towards sentient beings, and generate intense, unbearable compassion, then radiate and gather the light.

According to the Nyingma school, the Buddha, whose essence is primordially pure, possesses all the qualities of the three kayas (bodies) without needing to seek them, as they are inherently complete. However, without relying on the conditions of the two accumulations (of merit and wisdom) on the path, they will not manifest. For example, the sun's orb in the sky inherently possesses rays of light, but it is obscured by clouds and cannot be seen. Wind is needed as a cause to dispel the clouds, but although it is a cause for dispelling the clouds, it is not the fundamental cause for the arising of the sun. If the two accumulations are not gathered, one will ultimately not attain the two kayas of the result. However, these two accumulations are not the fundamental cause for generating the two kayas; rather, the name "cause" is attributed to them as conditions. Therefore, from the Shravakas (Hearers) and Pratyekabuddhas (Solitary Realizers) up to complete and perfect enlightenment, all those results cannot be attained without accumulating the two accumulations. However, the methods for accumulating the two accumulations are not the same in all aspects. For the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, the accumulation of merit with appearance involves practicing morality and meditation; the accumulation of wisdom without appearance involves realizing the absence of self of the person and a coarse understanding of the absence of self of phenomena. They consider the apprehended indivisible particles and the apprehending indivisible moments to be established in ultimate truth. This is not because reason cannot analyze it, but because they dare not analyze it and thus establish it. If the apprehended indivisible particles were not established, there would be no cause for creating the environment and beings; if the apprehending indivisible moments did not exist, there would be no basis for the cycle of karma and its results. Therefore, they establish that these are established. For Bodhisattvas, the accumulation of merit with appearance involves the five perfections of the practice of skillful means; the accumulation of wisdom without appearance is the perfection of wisdom. Alternatively, each of the perfections, such as generosity, can be called the accumulation of merit with appearance from the aspect of the manifestation of skillful means, and the accumulation of wisdom without appearance from the aspect of the emptiness of wisdom. Moreover, for beginners, the two accumulations are practiced alternately, and dual union cannot arise from practicing them simultaneously. After attaining the stage of an Arya (noble being), emptiness endowed with all supreme aspects manifests as the form of the six perfections. From the aspect of manifestation, it is merit; from the aspect of emptiness, which is free from the clinging to the three spheres (agent, object, and action), it is the accumulation of wisdom. So, are the two accumulations of these three—Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas—the same? They are not the same, because there are great differences in terms of the intention of the cause, the object and aspects of the practice, and the attainment of the result. Inner and outer Mantrayana

All yogas with characteristics of the three continuums are the accumulation of merit with appearance, and all yogas without characteristics are the accumulation of wisdom without appearance. All the means of the generation stage of Inner Tantra Mahāyoga are the accumulation of merit with appearance, and the perfection stage of wisdom is the accumulation of wisdom without appearance. A small part of the generation stage of Anuyoga, and all the actions and bonds of Trul khor yoga focusing on channels, winds, and bindus, and then arising as the illusory deity body, these are the accumulation of merit with appearance. The wisdom drawn by the four joys arising from those means is the accumulation of wisdom without appearance. In Atiyoga's Kadag Trekchö, the wisdom accumulation of emptiness essence, and the wisdom of self-luminous nature, it is not contradictory to call it the accumulation of merit. Alternatively, the four spontaneously accomplished appearances are the accumulation of merit, and Kadag Trekchö is the accumulation of wisdom. This is established by the main and secondary causes for ultimately attaining the two bodies. However, beginners can cultivate practices that are in accordance with the union of the two accumulations, such as the practice of generosity, etc., in the Perfection Vehicle, each in the manner of the eight illusory examples before understanding emptiness. The outer three tantras' yogas with and without characteristics, meditating on the three family deities as the result of the union of the two accumulations, and according to Mahāyoga, the essence is emptiness, the nature is great compassion, the form is the seed syllable and the mandala of the dependent and the depended arising from its complete transformation, and meditating on it. Also, in Anuyoga, the union of the body illusory body and the mind exemplary meaning of clear light, the arising of the pure and impure illusory body deity is the union of the two accumulations. In Ati's Kadag Trekchö, the inner clear compassion, the essence is emptiness, and the part where the wisdom of self-luminous nature is inseparable, and the spontaneous leap over of Kadag's nature, and its essence, the great emptiness of Kadag, that is, the union of space and wisdom, these are all the union of the two accumulations. But this is not something that nominalists can understand. Therefore, the doors of accumulating merit on the paths of both Sutra and Tantra, such as the many forms of the seven-branch offering, and the essence of each path, all of these are methods of accumulating merit, but in this case.
