What becomes manifest is the realization of self and other as equal in the non-dual ultimate truth. Realizing conventional truth as mere illusion, realizing equality. Realizing the equality of Buddhas and sentient beings. Realizing the equality of self and Buddha, it is at that time that one reaches the beginning of being able to actually accomplish the benefit of others. If the head is cut off and taken away, there is no thought other than seeing it as earth, stone, or a clod, so at that time one can accomplish cherishing others more than oneself. In the case of the initial practitioner, one must train the mind in conventional bodhicitta and thereby accomplish cherishing others more than oneself. The methods for cutting off self-grasping are two: skillful means and wisdom. Among these, one must first cut off with skillful means. Through the three doors of equality of self and other, exchange, and cherishing others more than oneself, one first cuts off the thought of self-interest with skillful means. Then, relying on that skillful means, one cuts off from the root with the wisdom that realizes the ultimate meaning that arises from the skillful means. Among these, one must first repeatedly meditate on and ascertain conventional bodhicitta, and then mainly train in ultimate bodhicitta. The thought of self-interest is abandoned by the former in the manner of suppressing the head, and by the latter in the manner of uprooting. Therefore, this practice of bodhicitta for one lifetime is sufficient for a person, so one must know how to bring whatever happiness or suffering arises into this path. Moreover, it is not possible for a person to always be happy or always be suffering, sometimes happy, sometimes suffering, both come alternately, so if happiness and suffering arise, they become the essence of the path to enlightenment, and if suffering does not become an obstacle to the path, then that bodhisattva is skilled in skillful means. Therefore, if a bodhisattva experiences happiness, he does not look at it with pleasure. If the cause of happiness, such as faith, renunciation, and the precious bodhicitta, arises in one's mind, one should not hold onto it or stay with it. Also, if I become angry and words are about to come out, then before the words come out, I must give them to sentient beings. Whatever unpleasant things happen, such as being tormented by diseases such as leprosy and smallpox, being possessed by evil spirits, being oppressed by shadows, etc., one should know that it is the blessing of the Three Jewels, just like at the time of taking refuge, and that the fruits of the non-virtuous actions that I have accumulated in all my lifetimes will ripen in future lives.

All my transformative actions have matured in this lifetime due to the blessings of the Three Jewels. Therefore, I think of solely bearing all the sufferings of all sentient beings pervading the sky. If attachment, hatred, etc., arise, I will abandon them through the blessings of the Three Jewels. Therefore, may I take on all the afflictions of all sentient beings, such as desire, and may all the afflictions and actions of all sentient beings, such as desire, ripen upon me. Thus, by taking whatever arises, whether it be the cause or effect of suffering, onto the path, the path to enlightenment becomes an ally, purifying countless eons of sins and perfecting accumulations. Furthermore, when seeing immoral or evil people, practice giving and taking with them. To protect one's own discipline, one must rely on antidotes. Just as a crow cannot eat a snake that is not dead, if the antidotes—mindfulness, awareness, and caution—are not diminished, one cannot produce the downfall that is the cause of great downfalls. But if one encounters a dead snake, even a crow acts like a garuda. If separated from antidotes, even small misdeeds become the cause of downfall, so one must increase the power of antidotes in this way. Just as the Victorious, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, the Bhagavan, is like a lion, I who follow him am like a young lion. Therefore, I must generate the power of wisdom towards all aspects that are contrary to downfall and be steadfast. Thus, abiding in one's own discipline, etc., and placing others in that state, if one clings to manifest clinging, pride, and clinging to reality, that is the work of Mara and must be abandoned. Thus, exchange self and others from the heart. Through equal exchange, from the depths of the heart, gain the power to maintain equanimity towards the acceptance and rejection of the eight worldly concerns. When meditating on cherishing others, I think, starting from today, even if I do not attain liberation, it is fine; I will take on the sufferings of the six realms of beings, such as hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals, and endure them. I will give my happiness, well-being, and pleasant things, etc., to all sentient beings. Thus, towards all sentient beings from the peak of existence down to the Avici hell, generate the thoughts of seeing them as mothers, remembering their kindness, and wanting to repay their kindness. When wanting to be free from suffering,
