It acts. The shin vein causes blood to flow, and performs the activity of different verbal expressions. Kundharma causes bodhicitta to flow, and performs the activity of different mental concepts. The one with a glass tube performs the activity of pervading all. In the ultimate truth, Kundharma performs the activity of transforming into the form of the Dharmakaya, showing the distinctions of the mind's abiding. The shin vein performs the activity of the correct meaning of what is expressed, transforming into the form of the Sambhogakaya. Roma transforms into the form of the Nirmanakaya, giving special happiness of body, speech, and mind. Twelfth, what is the nature of the channels? The word "channel" means to show the definitive meaning, just as telling a history comes from the root, and there is no change in the telling. There are two types of channels: general characteristics and specific characteristics. First, the formation of the body also depends on the channels. The channels depend on the wind, the body depends on the channels, the wind depends on wisdom and afflictions, and wisdom depends on Dharma-nature and happiness. The combination of these two results in a transcendent nature. Afflictions depend on disease and suffering, and the combination of these two results in various kinds of suffering. Therefore, the nature of samsara arises. The specific characteristics of the channels are: the characteristics of the channels of the first chakra are hard and stable, thus holding the foundation of the body; the channels of the second chakra hold the characteristics of entering and pervading, thus showing the functions of the limbs and senses of the body; the third chakra holds the characteristics of heat and ripening, thus showing the body's strength, color, splendor, brilliance, and radiance; the fourth chakra holds the characteristics of lightness and movement, thus showing the various functions of the body, hence it is called a characteristic. Thirteenth, identifying the afflictions that flow from those channels: the affliction of ignorance flows from the main channel of the first chakra; hatred flows from the third chakra; the three poisons flow equally from the second chakra; desire flows from the main channel of the fourth chakra. Thus, it is called affliction. Fourteenth, how do the ends of the activities of those channels change, and identifying the categories of channels through which wisdom flows: in general, there are four hundred and four different bodies of sentient beings, and there are the same differences in the channels, but summarized

The pulses are composed of one hundred and four different types. These are condensed into thirty-two, and from those thirty-two into sixteen. From those sixteen into twelve, and from those twelve into eight. From those eight, four arise, converging at the root of the four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. All of these do not stray from the three: the male pulse, the female pulse, and the Bodhicitta pulse. If the male pulse is predominantly strong, retinue and possessions will become exceedingly vast. If coarse, many children will be born, and the retinue will grow coarse and flourish. If subtle, power will be small, and possessions will be meager. If weak, life will be short, and authority will diminish. If stiff, one will become violent, inviting hatred from others. If trembling, one will constantly be ill and experience suffering. If shaking, physical strength and talent will not arise. If contracted, one will be miserly and fond of begging. If changing, the mind will be scattered and unable to focus. If feeble, one will be timid and sorrowful. If flat, one will be fond of work and activity, but intelligence will be mediocre. The occurrence of the female pulse is the opposite of this, and should be understood accordingly. The Bodhicitta pulse will accomplish peaceful activities, as well as increasing, magnetizing, subjugating, attracting, expelling, and separating activities. It will also accomplish the virtuous deeds of body, speech, and mind. Furthermore, a misalignment of the male pulse will result in diseases of the water channels. Tension and rigidity will result in bone diseases. Rupture will result in aggregative diseases, hastening death. Separation will result in wind diseases. Aggregation will result in phlegm diseases. Rigidity and contraction in the upper and lower parts will result in painful diseases. The occurrence of the female pulse being the opposite of these will also lead to similar results. Regarding the specific changes that determine the end of the pulse: From the specific characteristics of the pulses of the head and body in general, searching upward one span from the boundary of the hairline on the forehead, where the transformation of the brain resides. If it is severed by an arrow or by nature, the voice will change, a nasal sound will occur, and death will occur within three or eleven days. If a horn points downward on either the left or right side, it is the bile arrow of the liver. If it is severed, the tip will fall to the left or right, and signs of protruding ankles will appear. Then, vomiting and flailing of the arms will occur, the eyes will not see, and one will not be able to smile. Death will occur within seven or nine days. Measuring downward from the crown of the head with an arrow, there is a whorl of hair. If it is severed, the body will feel cold and shiver, and then fever will arise. Death will occur within five or twenty days. Then,
