Arising. The two ways in which different thoughts and ideas turbulently hold the life force of the body are: the female arises from collecting various illusions of oneself and others, and inserting the concept of existence into what is non-existent; the male holds the basis of various habitual tendencies, from which arise various different dreams and turbulent dreaming. These are all formed from the accumulation and development of previous thoughts and ideas as causes, and latent tendencies, which grasp at existence. In the various tastes, there are six channels that hold the life force of the body. The female enters into sound and melody, arising from the spreading and holding of sweetness. From that, becoming distinct, arises from the holding and spreading of bitterness. The male, by seizing the special life force from bodhi, believes in and spreads saltiness, from which it arises. From that gathering and transcendence, the holding of sour taste appears. Furthermore, from the activity and conception of sound, two life forces of clarity and non-clarity arise: the female through speaking and combining words, the male through the skill and unskill of translation, experiencing the change of astringency and roughness, from which it arises. That itself gathers to produce conception, and development shows the special basis. At the apex, seven positions reside, showing various activities of objects and consciousness: the two definite entrances of the senses are: that itself throbbing to the right, becoming the visual function of the eye, from which arises the eye distinguishing black and white. Throbbing to the left, becoming the auditory function of the ear, that power becomes the eye, the sound function of the ear ceases, the life force of the ear's sound disappears, from which arises the withering of the eye vein causing deafness. That itself throbbing in the middle, showing the taste function of the tongue, the life force of that disappears, leading to the end of life, and the paralysis of the tongue caused by elemental diseases. That throbbing upwards, showing the olfactory function of the nose, the life force of that disappears, leading to the collapse of the nose and the production of much mucus. That throbbing downwards, showing the sensory function of the body, the life force of that disappears, leading to the inability of the body to stand when sick. The male enters and holds various objects, the life force of the form of the visual function disappears, from which arises the unclear vision. When the life force of the sound of the auditory function disappears, the ear cannot hear, from which it arises. The life force of the smell of the olfactory function disappears.
