Various auspicious connections should be made. If you want it to last long and be firm, make a Tsok kyi Khorlo (gathering wheel) to the superior one who embodies the four bodies and five wisdoms. If you want to diminish the power and enjoyment that harm the Dharma, make a smoke offering with various fragrances. Also, know the निश्चित समय (definite time) of his own decline, and poison his name and lineage. If you do this without error, it will definitely succeed. If you want him to disappear, entrust it to the wind; write the name on all the possessions and entrust them to the water, etc. Doing this will definitely succeed. These actions should be performed by yogis. This refers to benefiting oneself and others, referring to the common aspect. The above is the twenty-first question, relying on the method of combining the elements of life, to accomplish the common worldly activities, explained in three parts. Now, the twenty-second question of the first chapter, establishing the body, relying on the types of activities of scattering and gathering of the elements, explaining the nature of the activities, the first of the two branches: explaining the calculation of the relationship of the activities of earth, water, fire, and wind respectively, scattering refers to the boundlessness of the activities. Gathering refers to the aggregation of the elements. Balancing refers to the change of the four elements being equally divided. Thus, the elements are calculated in threes, which is twelve. This is the same as what was said before, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are also three each, calculated as twelve. The gathering of water, etc., these are the times of the body. The meaning of the words can be understood from the text. Now the second, explaining the end of the activities of scattering and gathering: the end of doing things with three. Etc., these are clear in the text. Now, the twenty-third question of the first chapter, relying on the view of Dzogchen (Great Perfection), free from extremes, completely perfect, explaining the cutting off of the stream of actions of beings, the first of the three branches: explaining the nature of the view of being free from extremes and completely perfect: wanting to cut off the path of samsara, etc., thus explaining, that is, the cause of samsara is karma and afflictions, the causes are various different conceptualizations, the result is cycling in the three realms, therefore there is immeasurable suffering, sentient beings of the six realms and four births.

Saṃsāra is encompassed by the five paths. The instruction for severing this is: the view called "Great Freedom from Action, Complete Sky" is the view of complete freedom from extremes. That is, because it is free from the extreme of existence, it does not fall into the side of entities; because it is free from the extreme of non-existence, the clinging to emptiness is exhausted; because it is free from the extremes of both existence and non-existence, it is free from clinging to self-continuity; because it is free from the extreme of neither both, one does not conceive of anything as clear or empty. Because it is free from neither both, there is nothing to be negated or established. Likewise, one should apply this to all extremes, such as appearance and so forth. That is, because it is free from extremes, it is not established as many; because it is completely perfect, it is not established as one. Thus, because it transcends one and many, it is the nature of reality that is inexpressible and free from falling into extremes. If you say that this is not Dzogchen, because it engages in abandoning extremes, then, because it is completely perfect in existence, it is the meaning of being impossible to seek; because it is completely perfect in non-existence, it is the meaning of being impossible to abandon; because both are perfect, it is the meaning of transcending abandonment and acceptance; because neither both is perfect, everything is transformed into the nature of reality. Likewise, emptiness and non-emptiness, and so forth, because they are completely perfect, therefore, this is called Great Perfection, the meaning of being without hope, fear, or falling into extremes. That is, because it is one, conceptual elaboration is cut off; because it is many, there is no need to abandon. That is, because it is an extreme, the center is completely severed; because it is the center, the extreme is completely severed, like that. How is this known? Because it is free from extremes, the center does not abide; therefore, by blocking the extreme, the center is empty; by blocking the center, no extreme is perceived anywhere. Therefore, it is called being free from dedication because it is completely perfect, as in "without remainder, not a part," and so forth, which is clearly explained in the texts. Thus, first, the nature of the view of complete freedom from extremes is shown; now, secondly, relying on the essential instructions of direct perception, the continuity is severed by the path of saṃsāra. That is, for a person with faith, first, the preliminary practices of body, speech, and mind are completed; then, when practicing the actual meaning, arising from seizing the essential points of body, speech, and mind, and again relying on the three essential points, the seizing of the essential point of direct perception is: the aggregation of the three, door, place, and wind, is called the nature of reality of direct perception.
